At 17, Dr. Sakran was shot in the throat by a stray bullet, an experience that nearly cost him his life and transformed his future. However, bureaucracy and paperwork often pose significant hurdles. "We fight against delays like unnecessary physical therapy when a board-certified surgeon has already diagnosed a torn ligament.
