Singapore is all fancy lights and busy people, but it makes you wonder: what about us older folks? Where do we fit in when we're not young and working anymore? It's a big question, even in a great city like Singapore. 🏙💭 Challenges: • 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞: The high cost of living, from housing to healthcare, can deplete savings quickly. Even the Central Provident Fund nest egg might not be enough for everyone, especially those with lower incomes or shorter careers. • 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Traditional family structures are changing, leaving many seniors facing limited family support or living alone, potentially leading to loneliness and social isolation. • 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬: As the population ages, the need for healthcare rises. While the system is world-class, affordability, especially for chronic conditions, remains a concern. Opportunities: • 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Recognizing the challenges, the government offers support through financial schemes, subsidized healthcare, and active aging programs that promote social engagement and mental well-being. • 𝐕𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲: Singapore boasts a diverse and active senior community with a wealth of activities and services, from cultural centers and fitness programs to travel opportunities, ensuring everyone can stay engaged. • 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Situated in the heart of Southeast Asia, Singapore offers easy access for retirees who want to explore the region and beyond. Planning for a Secure Future: • 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁: The earlier you plan, the better you can maximize CPF contributions, explore investments, and adjust your lifestyle for your golden years. • 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Financial advisors and retirement specialists can help tailor a personalized plan considering your specific circumstances and goals. • 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝: Maintaining a vibrant social life and physical activity is crucial for both physical and mental well-being. Singapore offers a multitude of opportunities to stay connected and engaged. The choice to retire in this country is a personal one. By carefully considering the unique challenges and opportunities, you can make an informed decision that paves the way for a fulfilling and secure future in this dynamic city-state. While retiring in Singapore may or may not be a dream come true for everyone, being prepared for potential obstacles is key to navigating this transition successfully. You've got this! ✨ 💪🏻

If you’re a Millennial, Gen Z, or part of the younger generation, and you want to be happy, take a moment to read this: Many young professionals in Singapore 🇸🇬 have a vision of the “ideal life”: 1. Land a job in finance or banking; 2. Climb the corporate ladder as quickly as possible, working long hours and pushing for every promotion; 3. Increase your total compensation (TC) from SGD 100k to SGD 300k, SGD 500k, even SGD 800k… 4. Invest aggressively in the hopes of becoming a millionaire; 5. Live frugally, meticulously track your expenses, and constantly worry about your financial future. The ambition? 🏆 To achieve financial freedom in Singapore, send your children to top universities abroad, and pave their way to become future millionaires. But here’s the reality: This approach is almost guaranteed to lead to burnout, stress, and a life filled with anxiety—not just for you, but for your loved ones as well. Before you know it, you’d spent your prime years of your life working, exchanging time for money. 🤔 But guess what? There’s a much healthier and more sustainable path available today. And it’s not that hard to follow. 💯 Here’s how: 1. Focus on honing your professional skills; 2. Seek out employers/ companies with great culture, who treat you with respect, or consider digital remote work and freelancing to gain flexibility; 3. Target a reasonable salary in the SGD 50k-SGD 120k range; 4. Consider staying in Singapore or, if you’re free from commitments like kids or a mortgage, think about relocating to a more affordable place like Vietnam or Thailand; 5. Limit your work hours to under 30/40 per week; 6. Invest time in your relationships with family and friends; 7. Work on maintaining a strong, happy family life; 8. Make room in your life for hobbies, rest, and relaxation; 9. Put your health at the top of your priority list. This alternative path is far more likely to lead to true happiness and fulfillment. Take a moment to think about it. Life is short.

Expat Financial Planner in Vietnam | Get on Track & Stay on Track | 🇻🇳 Since 2015 | Book a Call Below 👇
Mainland Southeast Asia 🌏 Those who have been know what treasures sleep here. This section of Southeast Asia is home to some 250 million people. Where they congregate is shown in the population density map below. You can see the bright Red River and Mekong deltas in Vietnam; Phnom Penh close by; Bangkok and the urban sprawl surrounding it; Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in the south; Yangon holding out in the West, and Vientienne poking its head out in the centre - always the recluse. The black and red areas represent some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world (and some of the best motorbiking!) ⛰ 🏍 As an expat living in Southeast Asia, you're (mostly): 🔒 Safer than in other regions 🥘 Have access to incredible food 👨👩👧👧 Around friendly and curious people 🏯 With diverse culture and language structures 🕺 Vibrant expat communities 💸 Affordable living (you're not invited to that last one Singapore!) Professional opportunities abound and the local populations are generally pro-wealth and want to get ahead in life. People desire financial well-being and material wealth. This is, perhaps, in contrast to many people's stereotypical view of Southeast Asia as being a slow, spiritual and oriental place. There will be ample opportunities to build wealth in this region, for locals and expats alike - so long as you approach it with a mindset of problem solving and collaboration, rather than selfish gain. Have a great weekend all! 💂♀️ Hi, I’m Will I’m a British financial planner in Hanoi 🇻🇳 I help expats in Asia get their finances in order and get a better return than they would at the bank. I specialise in: → Savings & Investments → Life & Medical Insurance → UK National Insurance → Retirement & Pension Planning → Cashflow Planning → Trusts & Estate Planning Fancy a chat? It’s about you — your situation and goals. I work my magic from there… 🪄 #Expat #Wealth #SouthEastAsia #Vietnam #Thailand #Singapore #ExpatFinanicalPlanning

A good read for people who works in SEA #regional #HR position 🏃♂️ Singapore Kiasu? 💲Thai emphasizes on adequate retirement fund? 🏆Vietnam is very committed to have good performance in career.. How about Malaysia? 👉Following was a chart done to show various views of success. 1. Singapore is known for hard working and high expectation. And they "think" 🍻strong relationships is important.. But they have time meh? Hmm... 2. Thai: The view of the 500 interviewees think the relationship is not important, 💰but to work hard for a sufficient retire fund is far more important! 71 beyond the normal of 52% 3. Vietnam: Happy go lucky, they score the lowest mark in planning for retirement🧓, while felt most satisfied in performing in their career... This reminds of my pleasant experience working with them when I was in the regional position. 4. Malaysia: 🧘♀️We think good mental and physical health💊 is important!! and the relationship scored the lowest.. Do you agreed?! One interesting fact is that all the countries think the same in this category: 👩👩👦👦 See the success of children and family... This proves parent's love❤️ are the same regardless countries and language. What can you see from this chart. Let me know below: #Henryvaluer

After our business tour in Australia, we were extremely impressed by the dynamics and uniqueness of this country 🚀 👉🏻 The impressively high quality of life for Australians is an example of how economic development and social progress can be effectively combined. Taxes in Australia are highly progressive, ranging from 20 to 49%, but in return, people enjoy free healthcare, transportation, and much more. 👉🏻 The minimum wage in Australia, which is $28 Australian dollars per hour, reflects a strong commitment to ensuring a decent standard of living for all citizens. 👉🏻 Visiting the offices of global companies allowed us to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of innovation and high professionalism that characterizes Australian business. 👉🏻 Sydney and Melbourne, the largest cities in Australia, are true hubs for startup projects in the technology and creative industries. These cities not only attract the attention of local innovators but also become magnets for investors from around the world. Australia is not just a country; it's a real field for the development of great ideas and business opportunities. Our participants, inspired by what they saw, are ready to move forward and apply the experience gained in Ukraine 🇺🇦

The world is getting smaller, yet it doesn’t mean the world is getting closer. In the past, people kept to their own circle, but technology and globalization now bring us into contact with various cultures, races, and nationalities, sometimes leading to friction over communication styles and attitudes. What I find calm, you may perceive as lackadaisical; my enthusiasm may appear show boating to you. As a Singaporean, I cherish our unique position between East and West. Despite imperfections, we strive to befriend everyone. This principle has guided my career – being a local Singaporean, engaging with both expatriates and local business partners. It's a privilege to embrace a world beyond our tiny dot, connecting with people beyond my neighborhood and exploring grounds beyond my stride. That is also why I love my job, to meet competent expat adviser like Claudia Stein who has found a home in Synergy Financial Advisers Ltd and also an established financial adviser Alvin Soong B.Eng, MSc (Applied Finance), who’s been in Professional Investment Advisory Services Pte Ltd (PIAS) for many years. Listening to them share how they advice and serve their HNW clients is truly interesting, because the styles, their expertise and their background are so different. But yet, fundamentally they have the same goal, which is to put their clients first!

Singapore’s co-living sector continues to gain investor interest, driven by the need for flexible living arrangements and a growing expatriate workforce. The Singapore government has also played a role, offering state properties and new initiatives to support repurposing spaces for co-living, further enhancing the appeal to investors. With institutional interest and evolving market demands, the co-living trend in Singapore is poised for sustained growth, offering unique opportunities for developers and operators alike. As the sector continues maturing, it promises a vibrant future yet implies fiercer competition. Besides vigorously expanding portfolios, operators need to innovate, optimise operations, and uphold their standards to remain relevant in the competition, which has always been Coliwoo's development strategy. 🔎 Read more: https://buff.ly/4djgVX5 #LHNLimited #lhngroup #CoLiving #SingaporeRealEstate #InvestorInterest #FlexibleLiving #SustainableGrowth #CommunityLiving
