I'm curious. Always. This is why I love TedTalks. They feed me bite-sized content and work well as learning reinforcement across all subjects. I'm currently designing a course that includes the TedTalk below as a resource 👇 It's well worth the short 9 minutes for many reasons. I love site-specific performances that connect communities and how they "celebrate culture as the highest expression of the human spirit." What TedTalk have you found engaging and why? #LifelongLearner #curiosity #CommunityConnection

Sound Follows Function by Rainer Hirt:
Sound Follows Function: Exactly 17 years ago, I wrote the last sentence of my master's thesis at the HTWG Hochschule Konstanz – Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung with exactly this title. This was not only an important milestone in my academic exploration of the functional design aspect of sound, but also the foundation stone for audity GmbH — Brand Sound Agency. I look back with gratitude on the signposts of my career - Brian Switzer, Volker Friedrich: Thank you! Have you seen the Disney film Elemental? 🔥 🌊 🌍 🌪 It is SUCH an excellent child friendly example of Xenophobia. For my Tech class (7/8 grade), we watched this AMAZING TedTalk from a high school student explaining what Xenophobia is (linked below, because it IS good). Next, we watch Good Chemistry, the story of Elemental. And then of course, Elemental. My end goal for this unit is for them to create a Google site showcasing minority film creators and their contributions. This is a brand new unit I just added, but since this course has no curriculum, I am constantly adding/editing. Do you know of any awesome minority film creators I should make sure my students are aware of?? https://lnkd.in/grUwKJFM

Let's goooooooooooooooooo Fourth speaker in the line-up Anna Linnehan: Connecting Your Emotions to the World in Which You Live: Lessons Learned from a New Orleans Uber Driver Over the course of centuries, numerous efforts have been made to understand human emotion. Fortunately, converging approaches from neuroscience and the consequential contingency analysis of behavior provide answers to the questions: What are emotions and emotional behavior? How do we use our emotions and emotional behavior to affect the world around us? My talk will answer these questions, as well as describe why we shouldn’t seek to control or get rid of our emotions. Rather, we should use them to navigate and enrich our lives, fostering deeper connections and a more profound understanding of ourselves and others. https://lnkd.in/eB9z_jAw

"You can't get influence by waking up and saying I'm going to influence people." Influence is the result of saying things over time that people find helpful, provocative, and insightful. And that's exactly what Jeffrey Gundlach does. Check out our most-watched session from Future Proof Festival here: https://lnkd.in/gnuRBgFM

In the wise words of Chumbawumba, "I get knocked down, but I get up again." Following a similar mantra as this British punk rock band, Nick from Ascend Learning shares his journey toward becoming a better public speaker during his college years. Even after taking a metaphorical punch to the face by failing his first two speeches, he got back up again and sought out the resources to help fine tune these speaking skills. AUTHENTICITY Is the highest frequency one can measure! 4x higher than LOVE!!! But nobody is living its authenticity from the bat. We are all hiding behind some kind of convenient fiction, that's so much easier than facing our reality on ALL levels. Exploring and expanding 'The Creative Spark of True Dialogue'. I have a track record of eneavouring to improve the quality of public discourse through Creative Conversations with Globalnet21 in Central London in 2014-15. Then an Emergence Foundation subidised project titled small2BIG TALK, a social experiment at public and private events in Amsterdam ending 2019. Now more latterly with my public Phenomenal Conversation Series with pioneers who exemplify the changes they want to see in the world. My latest dialogue with joyously talented multidimensional artist Ruchama Hoed was total moment of synergy and serendipity. A couple of weeks ago she discovered a four or five year old flyer from small2BIG Talk and gave me a call. We hit it off instantly and then had no option but to arrange a more formal exchange with each other! We recorded it and I am now sharing this as an addition to my Phenomenal Conversation series number sixteeen. Co- Interview with Ruchama Hoed - The Creative Spark of True Dialogue A totally unscripted unprepared dialogue, exploring conversation as a true creative art. Covered in our co-interview: - How intention creates conversations that matter - The creative spark of interaction that is unlimited, joyful, mind expanding, is both playful and creative. - How true connection creates a third presence 1+1 = 3 affect, through an amplified field - Self worth vs Arrogance and how self value is linked to intrinsic curiousity - The power of any moment to alter experience and the tenderness, sensitivity and appreciation of beauty required to spontaneously and unhibitedly respond to each other. #connection #dialogue #heart #listening #authenticity

Remember: although you've been invited as a panelist to talk about your expertise, not everyone in the audience might know who you are. In this video, I'll share some advice on how to introduce yourself as a panelist so you can start off this panel discussion on the right foot. https://lnkd.in/gmm7vUTc #eventprofessionals #meetingprofessionals
