Our research looks at framing we can ALL use when talking about transgender youth to help them grow into healthy, happy adults. One suggestion: Sharing positive stories of transgender youth who get the support and care they need illustrates the importance of affirming policies. Today is Trans Day of Visibility! Let’s take action to support gender justice and affirm the rights of all trans people. One way to advocate for transgender individuals is by fighting for access to gender-affirming care, which is currently under threat in our state. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live authentically and access the healthcare they need. Banning gender-affirming care prevents people from receiving the care that is important to their well-being. So, as we celebrate Trans Day of Visibility, let’s show love and support to the trans community by advocating against bans on gender-affirming care.

According to a recent study from the The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, more than 40% of transgender adults in the United States have attempted suicide.
