A very interesting article from HBR on future of work trends that will shape 2024 which is worth a read, particularly on the likely opportunity to reimagine how work will be undertaken using Gen AI and other technologies. In particular I read with interest the points on AI having the opportunity to create new opportunities for colleagues - especially through creating new capabilities using tooling that is now available.

Previously considered a radical departure from the traditional schedule, a four-day workweek has been raised in union negotiations and become the preference of many workers. A 2023 Gartner survey revealed 63% of candidates rated “four-day workweek for the same pay” as the top new and innovative benefit that would attract them to a job. Recent pilots of a four-day workweek have suggested benefits for productivity and employee well-being.” #futureofwork

Re-upping this Harvard Business Review article from January. Item No. 2 resonates: "AI will create, not diminish, workforce opportunity." Completely agree! AI actually opens new doors, enhances productivity and assists in managing tasks which otherwise are often a time-suck in terms of the "real" work that generates revenue. Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is leading the way, both in terms of utilization and understanding the many legal issues arising from AI's use. With: Lyle Gravatt, Kyle Snyder, James Forrest
