🌟 Being kind costs nothing, but it can mean everything to someone else. 🌟 In a world where we can be anything, let's choose to be kind. You never know what battles someone may be fighting behind closed doors. The recent news about Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis serves as a powerful reminder of this. Let's make an extra effort to show compassion, understanding, and support to those around us. A simple act of kindness can make a world of difference to someone facing their own challenges, big or small. Let's be the light in someone's darkness, the hope in someone's despair, and the strength in someone's weakness. Together, through small acts of kindness, we can create a ripple effect of positivity that can change lives. Remember, kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Let's spread it generously. #KindnessMatters #BeKind #Empathy #Compassion #Support #SpreadPositivity

Last week, I underwent surgery to remove my left kidney due to a 4 cm cancerous tumor. Fortunately, it was caught early, had not spread, and was only stage one. Renal cancer is usually found in later stages, but catching it early can make all the difference. It's important to pay attention to your body and know the signs. I was 99.9% asymptomatic, which is common in renal cancer until stages 3 or 4. I was lucky to have slightly elevated BP, which I did not know was a sign. A random scan from an annual check-up and CT to check something else did we find it. Don't ignore any signs or symptoms, and make sure to get regular check-ups. Early detection is key in fighting any type of cancer. This is a reminder to everyone to take care of your health and be proactive in your check-ups. #knowyourbody #renalhealth #cancerawareness

Today is National Leiomyosarcoma Awareness Day 💜💜💜💜 I was diagnosed with Retroperitoneal Leiomyosarcoma 11/2018 - lost my kidney, adrenal, spleen and part of my pancreas. I have had 3 reoccurrences since my original diagnosis - which makes me a stage 4 cancer patient. For Sarcomas the best route for success is surgery. Chemo and Radiation are what they consider back pocket defenses as sarcomas are “difficult” For the best outcome it is suggested for patients to be seen at a Certified Sarcoma Center. Unfortunately my state does not have one so we travel to Duke every 3 months for my scans and appointments. For Sarcomas there is no “remission” instead when you currently have no evident cancer cells you can consider yourself “NED” no evidence of disease. What I believe is needed to be successful when you are diagnosed is a support system outside of work and also inside of work, which may look different for each person. I believe transparency with others and keeping others informed (to whatever comfort level) helps your circle and yourself. Leiomyosarcoma is a rare cancer with only about 1200 new cases discovered each year. With that I say listen to your body, advocate for yourself and research!

New research has emerged that analyses outcomes in males over and under 50 years of age with penile cancer , combatting the gap in literature for documenting the comparison of oncological outcomes in young and older cohorts. A retrospective analysis of males younger than 50 years with penile squamous cell carcinoma at a tertiary centre was performed, using a propensity score matched cohort of males older than 50 years for comparison. Matching was completed according to tumour, nodal stage, and type of primary surgery. #urology #EAU24 #emjinspire

Oropharyngeal cancer, which affects areas in the throat such as the tonsils and base of the tongue, has seen promising advancements in treatment and curability. With early detection and modern treatment methods, including surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, the chances of successful treatment are significantly high. The 5-year survival rate for oropharyngeal cancer is encouraging, especially when caught early. However, like many cancers, there is always a risk of recurrence. This risk varies based on factors like the cancer's stage at diagnosis, HPV status, and the overall health of the patient. Regular follow-ups and monitoring are crucial post-treatment to catch any signs of recurrence early. At OMHNA, we're committed to providing comprehensive care for oropharyngeal cancer patients, from diagnosis through treatment and post-treatment monitoring. Our team uses the latest medical advancements to offer the best chance at a cancer-free life. Reach out today for expert care. Understanding Cervical Cancer: Causes, Symptoms, and Prevention visit: www.aurawomen.in Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cells of the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. It is often caused by persistent infection with high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV). Regular screening through Pap smears or HPV tests can detect precancerous changes early when they are highly treatable. Symptoms may include abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, or pain during intercourse, but early stages may be asymptomatic. Vaccination against HPV can prevent infection with the most common cancer-causing types. Treatment options include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy depending on the stage and extent of the cancer. Early detection and prompt treatment significantly improve outcomes and survival rates. #aurawomen #aura #cervical #câncer #cervicalcancer #awareness #trend #women #womenhealth #trending #trendingpost
