Do you remember what it was to have trust, Proximo? That is a quote from the movie Gladiator, highlighting the importance of trust. Trust is the fundamental building block of any good relationship and lays the foundation on top of which good things can be built. Someone has stated that three elements must be in place before trust can exist. These are ability, integrity, and benevolence. It was in the news this week how the founders (who are also the leaders) of Relex have contributed to the common good by donating large portions of their earnings to a foundation which aims to: -protect the environment and slow down climate change -prevent the rise of poverty and promote equality -prevent the social exclusion of children and youth This foundation has also recently donated money to a mental health project, when the project otherwise would have been in danger of been shut down due to lack of funds. The news cited the CEO Mikko Kärkkäinen saying things like (translated into English): “I don’t need much. As long as I have a good bicycle, books and free time.” “It doesn’t matter which investors are in, no one can use the monetary lever to force you to do things that don’t feel right.” “I believe that if someone has the ability to change the world and make it a better place, then they also have the responsibility to do so.” I work at #Relexsolutions… Our leaders are able, their integrity remains intact and they are benevolent. In them I place my trust.
