From personal experience of being self employed over the years, you have to be prepared to push yourself, manage your personal development, always improving skills, learning more, all to enable more resilience and adaptability in this ever changing environment. Certificates like this mean a lot, and was very happy to achieve this. A huge thank you to Darren Anglesea for being an amazing tutor and getting me through this, and the team Busnes@LlandrilloMenai for their fantastic SME business support.

Thought this was an interesting idea. One way to create an inclusive experience, attempting to influence a tourism behavioural change with a positive outcome. However, feel there should be a little bit more financial support for the businesses covering the cost of the incentives. As well as some way of tracking the good deed for fairness. However it's a choice, and worth a try to see if it works for a short period. Afterall it's better to try something than do nothing at all. It's early days. Let's see what happens.

The amount of discarded fishing litter such as string, netting, plastic I find along my local beaches always gives me thoughts to ponder about. Where does it come from? How long has it been in the sea, where has it travelled from? Is it the heavy industrial fishing vessels seabed grabbing causing the issues? Why is there so much of it trashing and killing the very food we eat - one in 3 fish caught contain plastic, the bread and butter of this industry. 1.75 million tonnes of plastic waste from fishing and shipping industries land in our waters. Ok not as much as what enters from land to sea (5 million), but this isn't a how-much-waste-can-you-dump-in -the-sea competition anyone wants to win. I was really happy to see that some effort to help fisherpeople discard their lines safely was in place at this beach on the Llyn. We need more of this please. Ways to then repurpose/reuse/recycle, as well as greater solutions to preventing so much industrial litter going into the sea, also developing materials that breakdown naturally. Nature always has the answers, we just need to put down the heavy machinery, and listen harder to the solutions nature is offering us. It's far more likely to be sustainable and have far less negative impact on the environment, and communities. This is a great example of a nature based solution. When out in Ecuador beginning of this year, I visited Mindo, it's such a truly magical place, as well as the birds, they have a wonderful sustainable organic cacao experience. Like most of what I experienced over there in Ecuador, can't wait to return next year to continue my learning journey (and more cacao tea husks ☺️). I love reading these stories of how the people are diversifying, working with nature to live in harmony, and creating educational and nature based tourism experiences on the way.
