RECIPROCAL BENEFITS In life, the law of nature dictates that everything reproduces after its own kind. An apple seed will always grow into an apple tree, and an orange seed will produce an orange tree. This principle extends beyond biology into human behavior and interactions. To receive high-value rewards, one must be willing to give high-value contributions. Generosity and the quality of what you offer often reflect back to you in the form of reciprocal benefits. Therefore, to become a high-ticket receiver, embody the qualities and actions of a high-ticket giver. Your contributions, efforts, and the value you provide set the standard for the returns you receive. Good morning and have a victorious day.

Sometimes generosity looks like a giant box of Apple Jacks. Early in my career, not long after I moved to Nashville I was struggling to get my start as a writer and I was broke. Like running out of food broke. One day an anonymous friend left a big bag of groceries at my front door. On the top of the bag was the biggest bag of Apple Jacks I had ever seen. And not some generic store brand Apple Ring-o's or nonsense like that, they were the genuine amazing Apple Jacks. I learned a lot about generosity that day. 1. You can never be too generous. 2. It doesn't take a lot to change someone's day. 3. Generosity is really fun when you can surprise someone. 4. Always give someone the version of what you would enjoy, not the cheaper "I'm giving you this so you should be happy with it" version. (i.e. Apple Jacks!) 4. Generosity is not about money, it's about the heart. ______________________________________________________________________________ Day 7 of "31 Days of Things Graduates (and everyone else) Need to Know."

Something that many people fail to realize is that self absorption or selfishness leads to implosion and self destruction but when we do for others and give we grow. Think of an apple tree for example. Hypothetically speaking here, there is only one apple tree on earth and I own it, it is mine and I am not going to share or give any apples or apple seeds to others so they can grow their own apple trees. What do you think is going to happen? Say that tree randomly gets struck by lightning in a storm and is destroyed. Now nobody has an apple or apple tree and apple trees are now extinct. That’s what self absorption and selfishness does. If I shared my apples and apple seeds others would have been able to plant those apple seeds and start growing their own apple trees. There could be hundreds of thousands of apple trees out there now, but instead, my selfishness and self absorption has led to the extinction of apples and apple trees. This is how many people act these days and instead of growing into our potential and helping others, we stay self absorbed and selfish which leads to our own self destruction. We all can and need to do better!

To retain your sanity as a lawyer, embrace that you can only do your best in any given moment and have minimal control over outcomes. As Carl Sagan famously said, “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.” This perspective highlights the countless variables beyond our control. Senior lawyers attest to the life-changing results of relinquishing the illusion of control to reduce stress and maintain focus on what you can impact. There are things you can control, and things you cannot. Know the difference. An apple tree can call itself an orange tree, but in the end, it’s known for the fruit it produces. Your impact, the way you make people feel, and what you ultimately produce define you. Your intentions and words may mean one thing, but your heart is proven by your actions. #impact #integrity #producewhatmatters

APPLE PIE Theory As I walk past this coffee shop, a thought hits me—just days ago, I mentioned Carl Sagan's Apple Pie Theory: to make an apple pie from scratch, you need to start with the entire universe. It’s a simple, yet profound analogy. To achieve your goals, it’s never just about the grind—you’re bringing together countless forces: focus, discipline, passion, mentors, coaches, family, and the inner fire that refuses to dim. But let's be real for a second—your journey hasn't been smooth. Sleepless nights, the self-doubt, the setbacks that make you question your path. It’s frustrating when progress seems painfully slow, when every inch forward feels like a battle. But think back—remember where you started, the obstacles you’ve overcome, and the strength you’ve found along the way. Take pride in how far you’ve come. Your goal isn't just a distant dream; it’s a testament to your resilience. Believe in it, fiercely. If you need someone to help you cut through the fog, get clear, and hold you accountable, let’s connect. #StayRelentless #ApplePieTheory #AchieveYourGoals #ResilienceMindset #MindsetMatters #AccountabilityMatters #GoalGetter #BelieveInYourself
