The Mystery of Thoracolumbar Pain: A Journey of Healing 🌟 Suffering from pain in groin area? As a physical therapist with over 18 years of experience in Southfield, Michigan, I've encountered numerous cases where patients suffer from thoracolumbar pain, often misunderstood and improperly treated. This type of pain, located where the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine meet, can lead to years of discomfort if not addressed correctly. 🤔 In my practice, I emphasize the importance of identifying the often-overlooked symptoms of thoracolumbar pain, as detailed in a recent Synergy Rehab article. https://lnkd.in/gBQa2hVB The article sheds light on the critical role of the thoracolumbar fascia and the various effective treatments available, such as physical therapy and myofascial release. 🔄 Reflecting on my career, I take pride in helping many regain their life from the clutches of this pain. It's not just about treating symptoms but understanding each patient's unique pain story and journey towards a pain-free life. 🙌 I believe in providing personalized physical therapy treatment so my patients find the human touch. 🌐www.synergyrehabinc.com 📲+1-248-298-0433 #PhysicalTherapy #PainManagement #ThoracolumbarPain #HealthcareHeroes #ActiveLife #Confidence #PatientCare

#TestimonialTuesday We recently encountered one of our patients while visiting with our colleagues at ATI Physical Therapy. He and his wife shared this wonderful testimonial for their physician, Dr. Brad Wisler. "For the past few years, my husband Bob was hampered by sciatic pain that extended from his back to his toes. He had trouble getting out of bed in the mornings, even needing a stool for assistance. Bob spent 18 months receiving steroid shots and taking painkillers. About a year ago, Dr. Brad Wisler suggested that he investigate the #spinalcordstimulator. We attended a session that explained its use, success rate, procedures, and long-term prognosis. The session included several other prospects with many questions, as well as two patients who had the stimulators implanted. We were warned that the success rate was about 85%, and that it isn’t suitable for everyone. Here’s how it works: the spinal wires send signals to the brain, telling it that there is no pain. You still have the condition that caused the pain, but the brain ignores it. It does not cure the condition. Today, he is free of pain; he walks upright and can lift, just as he used to." Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Compassionate providers you can trust. Advanced Pain Care, #ThePainStopsHere.

Consultant & Head of Department Physiotherapy Noble Hospitals & Research Centre. "SPORTS & GYM INJURY SPECIALIST"
In the world of rehabilitation, the phrase "No Pain, No Gain" is often heard. However, the reality is that this approach does not apply to every condition. From a therapist's perspective, pain serves as a crucial signal—a red flag indicating when to stop, especially in the early stages of an injury when the focus should be on reducing inflammation and managing acute symptoms. Pain can act as a symptomatic baseline that helps us determine whether to continue with specific exercises. If, during your exercises, you notice that your pain level is gradually increasing alongside a decrease in your range of motion, then the idea of "gain" simply doesn't apply in that context. So, the next time you hear "No Pain, No Gain," consider your symptoms and listen to your body. Remember, effective rehabilitation is about smart progress, not pushing through pain. Prioritizing recovery and understanding your body's signals will lead to better outcomes in the long run. #Rehabilitation #Physiotherapy #PainManagement #PatientCare #RecoveryJourney

Pain Psychologist and Strategist | Helping women bridge the gap between lived experience and evidence-based strategy
“I've always believed that if I just trust my doctors and follow their treatments, that's the only way to really manage my chronic pain effectively”. I hear this all of the time. Many women feel they must rely solely on healthcare providers, despite feeling dismissed or misunderstood. Take my client, Sarah, for example. Sarah was constantly finding herself stuck in a rabbit hole of quick fixes for her chronic pain, believing that a new treatment would finally solve her issues or more imaging would finally reveal the answers. Rather than seeing her pain subside, the endless search for new treatments and answers left her feeling frustrated and stuck. While healthcare professionals play an important role, you also have the power to influence your own healing. Understanding your pain and the relationship between the brain and the body can provide a TON of awareness and feeling of power. Sarah’s turning point came when she realized that a more holistic approach, focusing on understanding how pain is created and addressing the multiple mind-body factors that contribute to her pain was more effective. When she took back the power, she also reconnected to her intuition, something that’s often lost in the maze of appointments for chronic pain. She learned that taking back control and trusting yourself can lead to a more fulfilling and effective pain recovery journey. Imagine if you didn’t have to stay stuck in that merry-go-round of medications and appointments and surgeries and procedures and labs and tests and imaging. True success comes from perspective-changing knowledge, reconnecting with our heart, mind, brain, and body, and strategy. All of this puts the power back in your hands. #sandiegoca #painpsychologis
