Happy Thursday! Prepping for an audition can be a big process! Here are some steps to help get you ready: 1) Read the script and research the role! Understand the character you're auditioning for...read the entire script, study the character's background and relationships - know your objectives. 2)Practice the material. Memorize the script or sides and understand the context of the scene. If possible record yourself, and look at what you are doing physically and how you sound vocally. 3)Physical Prep: What is your body doing, hands, and face. Work on 'staging your monologue. Who are you speaking to, and where have you placed them in the monologue? Warm-up your body, so that you are limber and nimble and that you are ready. 4)Vocally Warm-up: Warm-up your vocal cords and face and jaw. Stay away from drinks with dairy.
