KG) and AIDA Cruises celebrated a major milestone on September 25th with the docking of AIDAnova, becoming the 100th cruise ship this year to be powered by shore power. 📉 Shore power allows ship engines to be switched off at berth, reducing emissions by up to 98%, depending on the mix of energy sources. Not sure anyone is thrilled with my recent Op-Ed in the Juneau Empire talking about how we can moderate and lead the way when it comes to cruise line impacts in our communities. #Juneau led the way with #TBMP, which is now a model for many ports around the world. We could also lead the way with how we manage #cruisetraffic and #cruisetourists in our amazing environments so we don't need #voterreferendums or litigation. And with our present 5 day ship limit, there's no reason #NorwegianCruises shouldn't be allowed to build the new port, it will mean one less ship at anchor and requiring everyone to tender. Update: Montenegro’s New Regulations on Duty-Free Fuel for Yachts! ⚠️ Starting Monday 27th of January Montenegro will be able to provide duty-free fuel. Under the new guidelines, yachts will need to stay within Montenegrin territorial waters for a minimum of 72 hours (excluding the date of arrival) to qualify for duty-free fuel.
