Today Jennifer Porter and I had a hearing in Arlington Circuit Court. It made us realize what a small legal community we’re in and that you keep running into the same people. We sat and chatted during a 3 hour recess. In 2014 I had my first #GeneralDistrictCourt trial. Jennifer defended it. In 2015 I had my first solo #CircuitCourt jury trial. It was an appeal of the same case that I tried against Jennifer. The judge who presided over my first jury trial was the judge at our hearing today. 10 years after my first trial as a new lawyer I am co-counsel on a case with the attorney I was up against so many years ago.
Small world indeed. I walked into Fed Circuit about two years ago and who was second chairing the opposition? Our mutual torts 101 professor.
Worth playing nice in the sandbox.
It is amazing as we progress in life to realize how small the world really is. I've come across an elementary school teacher and later a next-door neighbor while travelling in airports across the country. It makes us realize we are all in it together, even if on opposite sides of things :)
It is indeed a small world!!!
Amazing!! Sounds like God wants Jennifer in your life. Maybe a partnership is forming for something bigger 🤔😁
