SIJ METAL'S BEEHIVE IS PART OF THE NEW BEEKEEPING PATH SIJ Group companies in Ravne na Koroškem, in partnership with the bee-friendly Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem and the beekeeping societies of Kotlje and Ravne, officially opened the Ravne Beekeeping Path yesterday. 🐝🥾 🏞️ 🚶♀️🐝. This innovative educational circular trail introduces various thematic elements. At the SIJ Group, we are dedicated to nurturing a bee-friendly environment through our sustainable initiatives and actively planting honey-producing flora around our facilities🌺🌼❤️🐝🐝. Among the notable features on this trail is a beehive, which was installed in front of the SIJ Metal Ravne administrative building earlier this spring. A yearly analysis of the honey from the hive, to be carried out by a laboratory of the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association, will also monitor the presence of various substances in the honey and thus the impact of SIJ Group on the natural environment. The stylized image of the Carniolan bee, a symbol we crafted within the SIJ Group's sustainable operation strategy, has become also the emblem and guiding marker for the Ravenska Beekeeping Path. Do you know where our Social Recycling Shipyard will be built? 📍 #GuanabaraBay is the most important estuarine system of Rio de Janeiro state, located in the second most important metropolitan region in Brazil. 💠Its drainage basin has approximately 4,000km2 and comprises 16 municipalities, 7 main rivers, as well as 51 minor rivers and canals. 💹The basin area encompasses 10 million inhabitants, with intense urban and industrial development, corresponding to 80% of the population of the state of Rio de Janeiro. 🐠 Around the Guanabara Bay, there are more than 15 fishermen colonies, and associations and at least 32 landing points. There are estimates ranging from 5000 to 18,000 registered/unregistered fishermen. 🚯 Currently, 90 tons/day of waste enter the Guanabara Bay due to mismanagement and lack of efficient waste collection and treatment systems in the surrounding communities. Beyond the above-mentioned arguments, the Guanabara Bay is key to Rio de Janeiro´s economic development and requires close attention in terms of environmental measures!
