It is always an exciting time when we can share news of our projects and as projects go, they don't come much bigger than this, let us introduce you to The Great British Pollinator Highway
We are on a mission to create a vast network of interconnected pollinator friendly habitats across the UK.
These habitats will provide essential corridors for our amazing pollinators to thrive and enable us to reverse the catastrophic losses we have seen over the last fifty years. Although they may differ in size, each of these habitats will be rich in native wildflowers, grasses, trees, hedges and other pollinator friendly components.
What will set The Great British Pollinator Highway apart from other similar projects will be our use of the innovative technology provided by our project partners at AgriSoundtech. By using their audio monitoring monitoring system on each of our GBPH sites we will be able to collect the data collected from the acoustic sensors within the hardware, to not only count but to understand pollinator populations and optimise habitat creation.
This project isn't just about counting bees or saving butterflies, The Great British Pollinator Highway is a movement for a healthier, more sustainable future.
Through our engagement with communities, schools, local authorities and other stakeholders this project will provide Social Value opportunities galore for businesses across the UK. Education will play a huge part in the creation, management and rollout of each habitat with opportunities provided for people of all ages to learn, what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it and who benefits from these actions.
If you or your business would like to support and be part of this incredible journey sign up on our website or contact the team at Biodiversity UK.

Here are 3 reasons why sustainable financing for tiger landscapes is so important 👇
The boom-bust project cycle hinders impact at scale.
Tiger conservation is landscape conservation and takes time.
It can increase financial flows and co-benefits to Indigenous Peoples and local communities living in and around tiger landscape.
Sustainable financing is the best way forward to deliver conservation impact at scale and align with ambitions for green economic growth for the people living in and around spaces with tigers.
Read on to find out why sustainable financing is crucial to long term tiger conservation 👉https://lnkd.in/gMhZQQPj#investintigers#tigerfinance
🌿Driving Conservation and Connectivity in the Danube-Carpathian Region: Partnering for Biodiversity and Resilience
Exciting progress is underway in the Danube-Carpathian Region, one of Europe’s most ecologically diverse landscapes, as we work to secure its rich biodiversity and natural resources through the #NaturaConnect project. In collaboration with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), WWF Central and Eastern Europe, and multiple conservation partners, this initiative is paving the way for a cohesive approach to green and blue infrastructure planning, bridging ecological and political boundaries.
Our work is focused on integrating biodiversity and habitat connectivity across 19 countries in the Danube River Basin, including both EU and non-EU nations. This vast transboundary region is managed collaboratively with the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) and the Carpathian Convention, bringing together stakeholders across sectors—water management, agriculture, power production, and conservation.
Key highlights include:
Mapping Critical Ecological Corridors: Identifying key river and land areas that need enhanced protection and connection to sustain species movement and resilience.
Supporting the Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N): In alignment with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030, we’re strengthening conservation efforts to maintain Europe’s last wilderness areas and natural landscapes.
Facilitating Cross-Border Collaboration: Through targeted workshops, data-sharing, and capacity building, we’re engaging ministries, NGOs, and regional bodies to align development with ecological priorities.
By fostering this unique blend of data-driven insights and cross-border cooperation, NaturaConnect is supporting policy and action to safeguard a vital ecological corridor that hosts some of Europe’s last intact rivers, primeval forests, and iconic species, including the brown bear, lynx, and sturgeon. This collaborative model offers a roadmap for conservation that transcends borders, sectoral interests, and political frameworks—delivering a sustainable future for both people and nature.🦉

Last week, at the launch event for our new Voluntary Biodiversity Credits, my co-founder Lorenzo Curci and Tim Slaney, interim CEO at South Downs National Park Authority (our launch partner alongside Iford Estate), discussed the wider opportunity to support nature restoration projects across all 10 UK National Parks using high-integrity Voluntary Biodiversity Credits. They also touch on the pivotal role of #NatureTech in monitoring, showcasing, and ensuring the integrity of ongoing biodiversity gains in this emerging market.
This initiative is the first government-backed, voluntary mechanism designed to funnel private finance into large-scale nature recovery efforts. By fractionalising BNG units into smaller 9m² credits, we provide an accessible way for organisations to engage with this growing market and transparently demonstrate their environmental impact.
The World Economic Forum anticipates the biodiversity credit market could reach £140 billion annually by 2050. We are proud to lead with one of the most robust and scientifically-backed solutions available.
What this new market now needs is momentum and scale and we are actively seeking to grow our partnerships in the following areas to support this:
💼 Businesses: Looking to making impactful contributions to local biodiversity and nature conservation via the UK’s first Voluntary Biodiversity Credits.
🏛️ Councils: Launching ‘Local Nature Recovery Strategies’ (LNRS) seeking access to high-quality local nature recovery projects
🗺️ Landowners: Interested in new revenue streams to complement their BNG Unit income.
🤝 NatureTech Investors: As we grow our business we are looking for value-aligned investors to help expand Earthly’s capacity and achieve our goal of protecting and restoring over 1% of the planet (150 million hectares) by 2030.
A big thank you to everyone who has reached out so far, we have lot’s of exciting developments in the pipeline!

PROTECTING LIFE: A LEGACY OF SUSTAINABILITY
These eggs represent more than just new life—they are a symbol of the interconnectedness between nature and humanity.
In Papua New Guinea, the wetlands and peatlands play a crucial role in nurturing biodiversity, supporting species that rely on these ecosystems for survival. For local communities, these habitats are not only a natural resource but also a part of their cultural identity and way of life.
At Sepik Wetlands & Peatlands Limited (SWPL), we believe that sustainable conservation is essential for maintaining this delicate balance. By protecting these environments, we can ensure that future generations of wildlife have a safe haven to grow while supporting the livelihoods of communities who coexist with nature.
This harmony between conservation and human development is at the heart of environmental sustainability.
Through education and local engagement, we strive to empower communities to become stewards of these vital ecosystems. Together, we can ensure that every egg, every species, and every community thrives in a future shaped by care and responsibility.
Let’s make a difference today for a sustainable tomorrow. Visit www.sepikwpl.com to join our efforts.

York University’s pollinator garden enhances sustainability by providing essential habitats for birds, bees, and butterflies, while promoting biodiversity and ecological connectivity. The garden features native plants and wildflowers, creating green corridors that support various pollinator species, which are vital for food production and ecosystem health. The innovative use of augmented reality enhances visitor engagement, fostering awareness of the critical role of pollinators. This initiative aligns with broader sustainability goals, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and contributes to York's recognition as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers. Ultimately, Yorks innovative pollinators park is a positive step towards the university's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
