The name (not sure how I feel about it being three words), the logo, Tiger strikes again. Below is a great read regarding just how unique TW's new partnership is with TaylorMade Golf Company. Specific to very few professional athletes, the new brand is separate from Taylormade itself. Identical to the relationship between Jordan and Nike. Going forward, it will be interesting to see whether Woods & Co. decide to make it the official brand of the new indoor golf league Tiger and Rory McIlroy debut next year. Today we discuss rugby, Rugby game is more popular in 6 countries: South Africa, Australia, France, UK, Japan, and Italy. Overall, this is played in all over the world. Each rugby team announces thirteen players in the field with 4 substitute in bench. Now, we disclose 10 qualities of a good rugby jersey. 1) Fabric Quality: The fabric should be durable, breathable, and moisture-wicking to keep players cool and dry during intense matches. 2) Fit: The jersey should fit snugly without being too tight or restrictive, allowing for freedom of movement while also reducing the risk of grabbing during tackles. 3) Durability: Rugby is a physically demanding sport, so the jersey should be able to withstand rigorous play without tearing or losing shape easily. 4) Design: The design should incorporate team colors, logos, and other branding elements while also allowing for player numbers and names to be clearly visible. 5) Comfort: Comfort is crucial during long matches, so the jersey should have flatlock seams to minimize chafing and irritation. 6) Safety: Some jerseys are designed with reinforced stitching in high-impact areas to enhance player safety. 7) Collar: The collar should be sturdy enough to withstand tugging during scrums and tackles but not too rigid to cause discomfort. 8) Customization: Many teams prefer jerseys that can be easily customized with sponsor logos, player names, and numbers. 9) Ease of Maintenance: Jerseys should be easy to clean and quick to dry to maintain hygiene and prolong their lifespan. 10) Regulatory Compliance: Jerseys should meet the regulations of the governing body of the sport regarding size, color, and branding. Overall, a good rugby jersey balances performance, comfort, and durability to meet the demands of the sport while also representing the team's identity effectively. NIL => Name, Image, Likeness. An "NIL Deal". A contract from an entity to a separate party to capitalize on their established name, image and likeness as a representation of that brand toward their following or toward those who they hope to connect with. This last week I had the honor of bringing in 3 new faces to the HOKA brand by signing our first NIL deals with NCAA athletes. What spurred this opportunity is our newly launched footwear sponsorship of the Foot Locker XC National Championships. An event that has 40+ years of history and has seen the top prep runners from the US utilize as their stepping stone to the next level. So, why not bring in 3 past champions and successful NCAA track and field athletes to help grow awareness and market the overall relationship? It seems to me like an obvious choice but also highlights something that isn't being done in this sport. Why sign contracts just to hope to build a relationship for a theoretical future? Why not sign ambassadors to your brand who are great people and who are excited to partner and are willing to achieve the objective of utilizing and growing one's name, image and likeness? Anyways, I am so happy to have Kole Mathison, Natalie Cook, and Karrie Baloga kicking off our NIL future at HOKA and I'm even more excited to be a force behind building out the best way to celebrate the successes of NCAA and HS athletes. #FlyHumanFLy
