It is up to us. It is up to you. Task Force Argo has been dedicated to helping Afghans who honorably and faithfully served America, immigrants and refugees of all immigration categories, since chartering our own planes out of Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan in September and October of 2021. We took advantage of the chaos on the ground and successfully flew 2,100 Afghan Allies and American Citizens to UAE where they waited to be processed for onward movement to America. It was the selfless actions of some extremely brilliant and brave individuals that accomplished this heroic act. Your unwavering support and generosity have been the backbone of our efforts, enabling us to make a tangible difference in countless lives. Our work continues, especially in light of the recent executive orders. As we continue our mission, we call on your support once more. Your donations will go a long way in providing essential resources, support services, and hope to those in need. There is not one person in Task Force Argo who receives compensation for the work we do. We are all volunteers, and it is our honor to help those who were left behind. Join us in making a lasting impact. Thank you for standing with us every step of the way. We ask you to stand with us once more. We have received many requests for food both in the United States and in Afghanistan. We are also receiving pleas from those inside the State Department processing facility in Doha. Once again, it is up to us. It is up to you. Please consider donating. Matthew Soerens hopes 2025 isn't a repeat of 2017, which World Relief, the refugee assistance nonprofit he works for, called a "year of unprecedented pain." But with President-elect Donald Trump promising to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and make it harder for people to enter the country legally, Soerens fears that World Relief may be in for tougher times than during Trump's first term, when it laid off a third of its staff and shuttered five of its locations. From 2016 to 2020, philanthropies plowed $1.4 billion into efforts specifically intended to benefit immigrants and refugees, according to an analysis of Candid giving data conducted by the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP). That was more than double the amount during the five previous years, and it came from 3,000 separate foundations, many of which were new to the field. Immigration nonprofits are not sure whether this amount will be matched during Trump's second term. Alex Daniels reports: https://lnkd.in/gRjgFc2H

I had a different post setup for this week, but with what is happening in the UK is very disturbing. It is so sad to think we are going so many steps backward. We do have to remember though that these views are not a majority but a minority. My co-founder is English, and I am a child of an immigrant who left India to go to the U.S.A for a better life. Our collaboration is helping the business because we come from different backgrounds and therefore have different views. Those views help us to navigate in a way a single-sided view wouldn't. Here are just some refugees who had to flee their countries and what they contributed to the UK: - #YeukaiTaruvinga - founder of Active Horizon, fled Zimbabwe. - Sir Montague Burton – Founded Burton retail, refugee from Lithuania. - #Oksana and Oleksii Chaiun - founded Light Craft Family, fled from Ukraine. - Sir John Houblon – First Governor of the Bank of England, grandson of refugees. - Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia – Euro Car Parts, fled from Uganda. - Michael Marks – One of the founders of Marks and Spencer, Russian refugee. Finally, if you're in the mood to support any refugee helpful organizations, here are two amazing ones. Let's help some positive organisations that help people in negative situations. 1) https://lnkd.in/dyVxBNez- where your donated clothes can be shopped for free by refugees.-Such a great platform Sol Escobar 2) https://lnkd.in/dwuWDYbM - a platform where refugees sell products for their business. #ukriot

As we mark “International Charity Day," the whole world is awakened to our common responsibility to help those less fortunate and in doing this establish an unbreakable spirit of global solidarity. In May 2020, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, various international communities moved to help the world by shipping out much-needed supplies and medical relief. 2020 passed into the record books as a year when foreign aid reached new heights, at $161.2 billion. Most of this foreign assistance came from donor countries like the United States, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and France. The United Arab Emirates, where it first achieved control over part of its COVID pandemic, then went on to help other countries. Since establishment of nation in 1971, the United Arab Emirates has given more than AED360 billion ($98 billion) in foreign aid--a firm testament to its capacity to change lives positively and help those who are in distress around the world. 2moWe, Afghan refugees and USRAP case holders, respectfully request that Mr. Trump reverse the suspension of this program. This decision has left us stranded and exposed to grave dangers. Many of us risked our lives to support U.S. missions, and this suspension has placed us in significant peril. We urge you to reconsider and take immediate action to uphold the commitments made to those who stood by the U.S. in times of need.
