Benjamin Lickfett, Global Head of Innovation at Diageo told the audience at Brand Growth Summit about the company’s What’s Your Whisky initiative. The app invited consumers who were not familiar with the whisky category to answer questions about flavours. Using AI, the app would then create a personal flavour profile for them and recommend a whisky. It proved so popular that Diageo rolled it out to 20 countries and expanded it into the beers and cocktails categories. They used DALL-E Open Ai to generate images of ketchup bottles with prompts not mentioning anything about the brand name. The result? The images that came out of this all that one thing in common.
