Today, we celebrate 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐃𝐚𝐲, and here is the truth of why I became an engineer. I didn’t become an engineer out of a deep desire to build something revolutionary or create the next great innovation. Back then, it was simply because my friends and peers were all preparing for IIT and CET entrance exams. At that moment, it felt like the natural thing to do—just going with the flow of the crowd. (we had no such thing as career advice) And Many who graduated as Engineers are scattered across diverse fields today. Some are in banking and financial investment, others have ventured into entrepreneurship, waste management, some became trainers, and many more are thriving in IT. Only a handful have stayed in core mechanical companies. This speaks to the incredible 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦-𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 that an engineer brings. Extracurricular activities have played a crucial role in shaping my perspective and enhancing my engineering education. From participating in hackathons and technical clubs to volunteering and leadership roles, these experiences have not only strengthened my technical skills but also taught me the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. They’ve provided a platform to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios, making me a more well-rounded engineer.
