The Bureau of Indian Standards (#BIS) has implemented two new safety standards - IS 18590: 2024 and IS 18606: 2024 for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in India. ~ These standards ensure the safety of two-wheeler vehicles (L category), four-wheeler vehicles (M category), and goods trucks (N category). ~ The primary objective of these standards is to enhance the safety of the EV powertrain - which includes the battery, motor, and transmission. Consequently, these new standards are anticipated to considerably lessen the risks associated with operating and maintaining EVs in India. #EVs #India #notification
