"During the Johnson County Social, participants can enjoy drinks and appetizers, network with other Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteers and get pictures with Rowdie of the Indianapolis Indians. Most importantly, people can take the opportunity to change a child’s life through support and encouragement." See you all tomorrow!

The Remarkable Legacy of Giving: 22 Years of Feeding 200+ People For the past 22 years, my parents have upheld an incredible tradition? Every single year, they’ve fed over 200 people without missing a beat. Yes, you read that right—22 years and counting! This isn’t just about providing meals; it’s about creating a sense of community, spreading joy, and fostering connections. Imagine the countless stories, smiles, and gratitude shared over these meals. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned from their unwavering commitment: 1. Consistency is Key: Whether it’s in our personal lives or professional endeavors, showing up consistently can create monumental impacts over time. 2. Small Acts, Big Impact: You don’t have to move mountains to make a difference. Sometimes, it’s the small, regular acts of kindness that resonate the most. 3. Building Community: When you give selflessly, you don’t just help others; you also build a network of support, trust, and mutual respect. This tradition has been a beacon of inspiration for me. It’s a reminder that true success isn’t just measured by personal achievements but by the positive impact we have on others. Lesson: Embrace Consistency and Purpose Their dedication has taught me that no matter how busy life gets, staying committed to our values and passions can lead to extraordinary outcomes. Let’s take a moment to reflect on our own lives. What consistent actions can we take to make a difference? #Community #Inspiration #GivingBack #Consistency #Legacy

🎉 Exciting news! Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry was just featured on WCSC-TV Live 5 Newsin celebration of our 5th birthday! 🎂 Here are 3 takeaways: 💫 What tends to surprise mentors the most? Bigs spend ~4 hours/month engaging in free and reduced-cost, casual activities with their Littles. Bigs are often surprised that all Littles want to do is spend time together one-on-one. 💫 Why do most of BBBSL's Bigs become mentors? Our Bigs are self-aware individuals who understand the power of mentorship firsthand. They know the difference a mentor can make because they've either had one themselves or recognized privileges they grew up with, like secure caregiver attachments. Putting a young person at the center of the mentorship experience is key, and that's exactly what our Bigs do. 💫 What kind of Bigs is BBBSL looking for? With boys making up 90% of our waiting list being boys, we're in need of more males and men of color to become Bigs. It truly takes all kinds of people to make a difference. What matters most is humility and openness. Interested in stepping forward to invest in a young person's potential? Jealousy is not good, but it’s not bad when managed well. I volunteer as a co-lead at my church’s youth group every Friday. It’s a unique opportunity to engage, encourage and sometimes even entertain over 20, 11 to 18 year olds consistently. Last week this group of wonderful Gen Z’s and Gen Alpha’s patiently listened to my 10 minute talk on “I Want Can’t Have”. We explored jealousy experienced in our lives, in 1 Corinthians and media. Emotions are not good or bad but it’s how we manage them that matters. One big takeaway is that jealousy usually begins with unproductive comparisons with ourselves and others. I can definitely empathise with that after returning to the UK market seeing so many people scale up and move on. It’s helpful to be aware of feeling jealous and manage it before it becomes toxic. For example, talking to a trusted listener is a more reasonable approach to dealing with jealousy, than acting it out with a negative attitude to your work. God’s created us all uniquely, we can always be inspired to improve and celebrate the success of others instead of envying them for it. I shared this Budweiser commercial as a talking point too. Can you relate? #community #personaldevelopment #volunteering #resources #mentorship #doingbusinessbetter

Teaching important Lesson of life in right time....
Most fortunate are the kids who are raised by fathers that care more than just providing food and shelter. Fathers that are invested in the upbringing of their children and mentor them to make better life choices, really understand the assignment. Spending time with children, understanding where they are struggling and falling short, to guide them gently and show them the path is the right way to parent. Mentorship is everywhere, home, school, workplace, business, religion etc. Without the right mentor, life can be very difficult. Be a mentor or find one is a way to live your life.

My daughter came home with this "#Pasalubong" - ( Chicharon And Sukang Achara ) - a surprise delicacies from Bulacan - a perfect match either. We taught our children to be thoughtful when they were still kids, as we believed that this attitude was one of the important character they need to learn. This is it. Let our children learn how to be thoughtful & as they may contribute to change the world There’s no doubt about it: the world & nearly everyone in it, has been through a wild ride these last few years. The news headlines continue to bring sad and difficult stories, but thankfully, there are many stories of children and young people that are out in the world with their thoughtful, generous ideas and spirits. Thoughtful kids and young adults are those that understand what it means to have empathy. Oftentimes, they are passionate about causes that make them look outside of themselves. Maybe here are some tips for us to empower the young people in our life to live thoughtful lives so they too can change the world, 📌#1: Introduce them to positive role models... In person & in what they read and watch. From a young age, start introducing your children to people that are doing good things in the world. In books and movies, let them read about characters that are helping others, that are kind, and modeling thoughtful behavior. Social media, movies, and television are huge motivators in what children model, so limit their viewing of violence and aggression as much as possible. Instead, give them access to shows that demonstrate thoughtfulness, empathy, and promote caring about others. 📌#2: Work together on being thoughtful... Kids model what they see at home. So, modeling kindness & thoughtfulness toward others is important. One good way to do this is to work together on being thoughtful. For example, come up with some ideas that you and your children can do together to give back to others. Maybe it’s cleaning up a local area park, it’s helping make dinner or dessert to a loved one who is sick, donating food to a local food bank, or writing a card to an elderly person in a senior living center. When your children see what it’s like to be thoughtful, they will want to continue mimicking that and as they grow up, it will become more inherent to their way of life. 📌#3: Encourage them that there is no thoughtful action too small... Kids have limited physical resources like money or jobs, but their ideas, words & actions are what will change the world. So, when you are teaching about thoughtfulness, make sure they know that there is nothing too small for them to give. Changing the world often just begins with a smile or a kind word. That one thing, as small as it may seem but could be life changing to the person on the receiving end. There's a lot to consider but its start from us ( The parents ) Raising thoughtful kids is one of the best ways we can bring #light & #hope to our world! #TeachOurKidsToBeThoughful #LiveWithLoveAndLaugh

What does it mean to you to be generous? Tomorrow a group is meeting (as we do every First Friday) to talk about their Kingdom impact as they walk as business people. A lot of times when we think of generosity, we think in terms of money. How much do I give? But finances are not the only assets we're called to be generous with. You have so much more at your disposal: - Time - Words - Love - Forgiveness - Patience - A home - Your expertise - Food - Kindness - Effort Generosity is a heart condition, not a matter of how much money you have. We, working with colleagues and customers, have an opportunity to impact the people around around us in ways that are unimaginable if we have a heart posture of generosity. Tomorrow the group of First Friday-ers will be stuffing bears for the Foster180 organization here in Middle Tennessee, so that children coming into the state's care can at least hold a bear during that difficult time. Where do you see opportunities to be generous? AND if you're in the Middle TN area, we will be meeting in Mt. Juliet. We'd love to have you tomorrow! #generosity #legacyofgenerosity

A very genius way of demonstrating financial teachings to kids... You can't live your life bolonga and cereals. you see people most of the time don't get about their expenses going wild. It's important to learn the concept of working Hard and increasing the cash flow.

Children naturally have the ability to be generous, but nurturing this quality requires guidance and example. As parents, setting a strong example by volunteering and talking about the importance of giving helps your child understand the value of generosity. When kids see this modeled at home, they’re more likely to adopt the same behavior. Helping children understand the needs of others is a key step. Encourage them to put themselves in someone else’s shoes and see the world from a different perspective. When they give away something meaningful, they develop a deeper connection to the cause and are more likely to feel committed. It’s important to show your child how their acts of generosity make a difference. When they see the positive impact they’ve had, it reinforces the joy of giving and encourages them to continue. Generosity doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions – it can be part of their daily lives. Encourage them to use their talents and interests to help others in small, meaningful ways. Finally, allow your child to choose how they want to give. This sense of choice increases their happiness and makes the act of giving feel more personal. When children feel empowered to decide, they gain a deeper sense of fulfillment from their actions. At DiYES International School, we aim to build values like kindness, empathy, and generosity in our students, helping them grow into thoughtful and compassionate individuals. More answers and tips in the caption ⬇️ As parents, we all want the best for our children. We envision bright futures filled with success, happiness, and fulfillment. But it can be challenging to keep our kids on the right track. That's why we're diving deep into a critical topic: How to Keep Your Kids Off the Couch and Out of Trouble. The hallmarks of families whose kids stay out of trouble are built on a foundation of love and unconditional support. Here's what you need to know: ☀️ Set Clear Standards: What does your family stand for? What are your values, and what behaviors are non-negotiable? Setting clear standards helps your kids understand what is expected of them and the consequences of their actions. ☀️ Model Good Behavior: Kids are incredibly perceptive and absorb everything from an early age. As parents, it's crucial to model healthy relationships, responsible alcohol use, and a firm stance against drugs. Your actions speak louder than words, and your kids will emulate what they see. ☀️ Open Communication: Foster an environment where your children feel comfortable talking to you about anything. Whether it's school challenges, peer pressure, or personal struggles, knowing they have a safe space to express themselves can prevent many issues from escalating. ☀️ Active Engagement: Encourage your kids to participate in activities that interest them. Whether it's sports, arts, or volunteering, keeping them engaged in positive pursuits helps them build confidence, develop skills, and avoid negative influences. ☀️ Consistent Support: Be there for your kids consistently and unconditionally. Celebrate their successes, support them through failures, and remind them you're always in their corner. Your unwavering support can make all the difference in their lives. ☝🏻 Remember, keeping kids out of trouble isn't about being perfect—it's about being present, proactive, and positive. By setting a strong foundation of love, clear standards, good modeling, open communication, active engagement, and consistent support, you can guide your children toward a bright and trouble-free future.
