👁️Navigated 100ms retinopexy with the Navilas® retina laser👁️ This video illustrates the straightforward and easy process of performing 100 ms retinopexy on the Navilas® retina laser. Some doctors may find 100-200 ms pulses too long, while others argue that these longer pulses create a good grip by involving more retinal layers or may be more effective for treating proliferative diabetic retinopathy. 🏥The treatment is performed at Dr. med. Tobias Duncker Institut fuer Augenheilkunde in Halle by Dr. Siv-Annika Schwarz. Navilas pre-positions the laser beam for treatment, freeing the doctor from dependence on specific laser settings. You can precisely and fast deliver rapid 20 ms bursts (patterns) as well as 100-200 ms pulses. 👩⚕️Additionally, on Navilas®, most retina treatments can be performed without touching the eye surface. Therefore, in, for example, post-surgical eyes, there is no need to decide whether to treat or observe; you can just treat with the settings that the patient's situation requires. These qualities help you as a doctor reach clinical goals, while providing the patient with the best possible comfort. #Navilas #RetinaLaser #MedicalInnovation #EyeHealth #ClinicalExcellence #Photocoagulator #yellowlaser

Ophthopedia Update:Associations of quantitative contrast sensitivity with vascular metrics on widefield swept-source OCT angiography across stages of diabetic retinopathy: Purpose To investigate structure–function associations between contrast sensitivity (CS) and widefield swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (WF SS-OCTA) vascular metrics across stages of non-proliferative (NPDR) and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), without diabetic macular oedema. Methods Prospective cross-sectional study in 140 eyes of 99 patients: 33 mild NPDR, 24 moderate/severe NPDR, 15 PDR, 33 diabetic without DR (DMnoDR) and 46 control eyes. Mixed-effects multivariable regression models to evaluate associations between quantitative contrast sensitivity function (Adaptive Sensory Technology) and vessel density (VD) and vessel skeletonised density (VSD) in the superficial capillary plexus (SCP) and deep capillary plexus (DCP) on same-day imaging with WF SS-OCTA (Plex Elite 9000, Carl Zeiss Meditec). Results Standardised β coefficients for area under the logarithm of contrast sensitivity function curve (AULCSF) versus visual acuity (VA) at 3x3 mm scans: SCP VSD (β=0.32, p #Ophthalmology #Ophthotwitter #BJO

Could outcomes of valve surgeries be predicted? When planning the procedure for aortic stenosis (AS), how to weight the co-morbidity of systemic hypertension? An approach to tackle these questions is to study the subtle patterns of left ventricular remodelling: a left-right axis shift is a unique signature of AS, predicts mass regression, and may be interpreted to be an adaptive mechanism.
