College day for me, but what a great day it has been! Today, we had careers fair at MidKent College where I had great conversations with Siemens Energy, Genco Construction Services Limited , CC Cousins, Trinity Claims, Golding Homes, St. Modwen Homes and more! My conversations went from new #housebuilds, #electricalplants at National Grid, #quantitysurveying, #hvac, #surveying, #iosh and #nebosh to #retrofitting. I can’t wait to dive into #surveying and even told one company that I am a RICS student member already. Nick Inge I saw your Itrust logo and mentioned you today. I watched a bit of the process whilst the work for installation of the #groundsourceheatpumps took place on our college campus. I even spoke about taking the #retrofit coordinator course that the college will offer. Then in college we are preparing for our next assignment so I did work on Hooke’s Law (elasticity of materials) and researched how to achieve #fireprotection in a #commercialbuild. I have an exam on fire protection soon. Not to mention, I finally managed to get the car cleaned. A productive day I’ve had I should say! 😊😁 Besides the lovely weather, what more could I have asked for? 👷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ #constructionindustry #builtenvironment #residentialconstruction #engineering #surveying #insfrastructure #projectmanagement #womenintoconstruction #construction #civilengineering

Senior Structural Engineer Peter Wyles and Structural Engineer Viren Mistry recently visited Ilkley Grammar School to take part in the school’s second annual Careers Fair, "Future Fest." As part of Adept's involvement, Peter and Viren spent time engaging with students studying for their GCSEs, A Levels, and T Levels, who were keen to learn more about the opportunities in civil and structural engineering. They shared their experiences and insights, offering valuable guidance to those considering a future in the field. In 2025, Adept will be working closely with Ilkley Grammar School and other schools, colleges and universities in the region, providing mentoring, work experience, and placement opportunities to help students build the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in engineering. #socialvalue #engineeringbettertogether #structuralengineers #careers

During the fall 2024 semester, Michael Baker International was proud to partner with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) for its Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) Industry Partnership Program. The CEE program offers educational benefits by providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to become successful engineers. As part of the program, members of our Wolf Pack attended the CEE Fall Career Fair in September and during the fall semester, our colleagues also represented Michael Baker at CMU’s Industry Lounge Takeover events. These events granted students an opportunity for in-person, informal, personal connections with industry partners. Michael Baker’s partnership with CMU’s CEE program will continue in 2025, as we continue to grow and strengthen our Wolf Pack. #STEM #Education #CareerGrowth #CareerDevelopment #WolfPack
