Suir Engineering has snapped up a Scottish rival in a move that will help boost revenue to €550 million this year. Irish-headquartered mechanical and electrical contractor Suir recently opened its first British offices in Manchester and London. The company confirmed on Tuesday that it has bought Paisley, west of Scotland-based Taylor & Fraser, bolstering its ability to serve clients in Britain. Suir’s latest acquisition, along with a strong stream of projects, will help push the Irish company’s revenue to €550 million this year, the company forecasts. Suir Engineering, backed by private equity, acquires Scottish M&E contractor Taylor & Fraser, aiming to secure a spot among the UK's top 10 specialist contractors. With a rich history spanning 118 years, Taylor & Fraser, based in Paisley, boasts a turnover of approximately £38m and a £1.4m profit. As part of the acquisition, Taylor and Fraser will operate under the Suir Engineering umbrella while maintaining its name and retaining its 180-strong workforce. Suir Engineering, headquartered in Ireland and active across Europe, reported a turnover of €429m in 2023, projecting a significant growth to €550m in 2025, fueled by the recent acquisition, a robust project portfolio, and strategic talent recruitment. Since 2002, the Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) joint venture has promoted grade control technology for construction machinery. The renewed agreement will offer more customers broader availability of interoperable grade control solutions via a platform for use by Caterpillar, Trimble and other technology providers and equipment manufacturers.
