This is absolutely crazy… Here we have the number of applicants for a very specific, 12 month contract position working on off-shore wind farms. Two of the main requirements are being UK based and having experience of off-shore wind farm planning – both of these apply to me, but I would guess only 1-2% of the total number of applicants have the relevant experience. Planning these works is quite unlike anything else, even off-shore oil/gas platforms although there are some similarities. But wait, the hourly rate is quite high at £75/hour (outside IR35) and remote work is mentioned so maybe this has drawn all the moths to the flame… This is a bit like 600 London cabbies applying to drive a Formula 1 car at the Monaco Grand Prix! Our experience at WYSE ADR is extensive and covers some niche markets, so if you need planning input for your project, or help with claims, delays or project recovery, get in touch. info@wyseadr.com | +44 7399 405938 | www.wyseadr.com #construction #ADR #civilengineering #arbitration #constructionnews #constructionindustry #constructionlaw #offshore #infrastructure #oilandgas #renewables #openforbusiness #opentowork

Wow, that was quick! Reeves removes the two planning policy tests for onshore wind in England that operate as a "de-facto" ban; and promises an upcoming consultation on bringing large onshore proposals into the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project regimes. Bold statements on mandatory housing targets and recruiting 300 new planning officers (during a green skills shortage). I'll be keeping a keen eye out for the updated NPPF and future policy statements. #onshorewindengland #rachelreeves #infrastructure #onshorewind #planningreform
