A week in cisco Unified Communications Manager ☎️ Day 3 Partitions 🔒 It is used to specify who can call you A partition comprises a logical grouping of directory numbers (DNs) and route patterns with similar reachability characteristics. Devices that are typically placed in partitions include DNs and route patterns. These entities associate with DNs that users dial. For simplicity, partition names usually reflect their characteristics, such as "NYLongDistancePT," "NY911PT," and so on. Calling search space 🔑 It is used to specify who you can call A calling search space comprises an ordered list of partitions that users can look at before users are allowed to place a call. Calling search spaces determine the partitions that calling devices, including IP phones, soft phones, and gateways, can search when attempting to complete a call. When a calling search space is assigned to a device, the list of partitions in the calling search space comprises only the partitions that the device is allowed to reach. All other DNs that are in partitions not in the device calling search space receive a busy signal.

In 2011, RoomReady had a defining moment... An Executive at Cisco gave my brother homework. "Show me how you'd deliver Video Conferencing rooms that don't suck, and you'll instantly become relevant to Cisco." Exciting opportunity statement to small structured cabling company in Normal, IL with 15-20 employees.  We had just wrapped up a Control 4 home automation system for the executive at Cisco.  My brother Aaron was heads up and knew we were blessed with a relationship close to a disruptive moment in our industry.  When Aaron asked him, "How could a small AV Integrator in the midwest be relevant to a company like Cisco?" I don't think either of them expected what came next.  Aaron and Jay (other brother - Co Founder) worked together and came up with removing a 3rd party touch panel from Cisco room designs. What is now common place - Cisco user interface to control the room solution, was unheard of at the time. We showed him a room solution where a 3rd party control system monitored the state of the Cisco codec and when the codec woke up (because a user touched the native Cisco touch panel), all room components came online.  Without any additional buttons on the Cisco touch panel, intuitive logic around what the user was doing in the room allowed us to deploy Cisco Centric rooms.  We rolled out a couple rooms in TX as a proof of concept.  Cisco sales team and clients LOVED the simple room solutions with native Cisco UI. It led to "Project Workplace" and we got the opportunity to do the first rollout of "Project Game Changer" integrating our solutions in all their field sales offices across the US and writing the code for all offices globally. Cool start to an unfolding journey!

I love a CCAAS success story but you need to dig a little to find the real gold..The 75% "growth" in the Cisco Webex contact centre is great but from what baseline? I also note that it is mostly from converting existing on premise customers, so, from Cisco to Cisco?..I do see that they are positioning the value of the "bundle" (my words).This is a differentiator where they can connect and integrate various Cisco offerings. It raises the importance of a connected infrastructure to deliver a frictionless connected experience, securely and simply. My prediction is Cisco CCAAS will expand within Cisco customers, it will take longer to truly challenge other leading vendors with a Cisco-less customer, and other vendors will need to step up connection integration amd orchestration to counter Cisco. #stoneism #ccaas #webex
