We're excited to announce that TCG will join more than 200 of the nation’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) stakeholders to participate in a Department of Commerce initiative to support the development and deployment of trustworthy and safe AI. Established by the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on February 8, 2024, the U.S. AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) brings together AI creators and users, academics, government and industry researchers, and civil society organizations to meet this mission. https://lnkd.in/e_VsMh4h

When I wrote my univesity thesis in 2022, I alerted for the necessity of reviewing and reinforcing the role of the United Nations in the AI governance, quoting various scholars which preceded me, and focusing my attention on the use of AI within the UN intelligence organisms, expecially during peacekeeping operations, for various purposes. Now we are finally starting to move in the right direction. We should then tackle machine learning techniques and data security more deeply.
🌐 The United Nations High-level Advisory Body on AI, together with The Royal Society, co-hosted a productive workshop in London earlier this year, focusing on proposals for new institutional functions in international AI governance. 👥 Members of the AI Advisory Body who participated include Paolo Benanti, Petri Myllymäki, Virginia Dignum, and Dame Wendy Hall, who also chaired the event. 🇺🇳 USG Amandeep Gill delivered the opening remarks. 📄 The discussions and outcomes of the workshop are detailed in a recently released summary paper. #AIAB #AIGovernance #GlobalDigitalCompact
