Hey LinkedIn fam 👋 just wanted to share a very powerful point made by Rachel Kargas (below)
When we peek into the recent history of the tech industry (and beyond), we're met with a global wave 🌊 shaped by the realities of COVID-19. It brought with it an onset of worldwide redundancies, a scenario none of us could have truly anticipated. 🌍
For many, the journey post-COVID meant adapting, evolving, and sometimes, switching jobs more frequently than usual. That’s right - the age-old notion of “job hopping” took on a new shade during this period. But here’s a gentle nudge to my friends in recruiting 📌: Before dismissing a potential talent for having a few short stints on their resume, consider the extraordinary times we've traversed.
As Rachel Kargas has put it brilliantly - "Loyalty is a two-way street"🛣️.
In the same way, companies had to make tough decisions for survival, and so did countless professionals. As we gradually pivot to a post-pandemic world, our recruitment strategies should mirror the empathy, understanding, and resilience we've all fostered during these times.
So, #talentacquisition industry let's champion a more holistic approach to talent acquisition. Dive deep, look beyond the surface, and recognize the stories behind every "hop." 🚀
Stay connected, stay understanding! #RecruitingInAPostCovidWorld #Layoffs #AdaptAndOvercome
P.S. We've all got stories of resilience and adaptability from the past years. Feel free to share yours below! Let’s grow and learn together 💪.
Companies, if you have done more than one round of layoffs in the past two years, (tech industry, Im looking at you) please do not screen out candidates for moderate levels of “job hopping.”
“Loyalty” goes both ways. #layoffs #recruiting
