We’ll have details on CSIRO capability across the tailings space, and will definitely be displaying three tools of relevance to high solids tailings flows: 1) Intelligent On-line Rheometer (iOR™) – for monitoring rheological parameters of non-Newtonian process and tailings streams, with application also in wastewater monitoring and in pilot-scale laboratories. 2) Bed Load Detector (BLD) – for measuring the depth of a settled bed (stationary or moving) of solids in a pipe or other shape of duct. As a flanged spool piece that can be inserted or built into a slurry pipeline, it has advantages of cost, speed, efficacy and safety over other instruments for achieving the same goal. 3) Drag Reduction Device (DRD) – reduces wall friction in high viscosity slurry pipe flow, extending pump operating regimes at higher slurry densities for improved productivity.
