🌍 UK Engineering Firms Launch Reuse-Focused Collective Big news today! Six top UK engineering firms have come together to create The Engineers Reuse Collective, focusing on accelerating reuse in the built environment. This not-for-profit group aims to support the UK's construction industry in moving towards net zero carbon 🌱. The initiative is led by Andy Yates, a former director of Webb Yates Engineers. The founding members include Civic Engineers, Buro Happold, Elliott Wood, Heyne Tillett Steel, Webb Yates Engineers, and Whitby Wood, with support from the Institution of Structural Engineers. According to the UK Green Building Council, the built environment contributes about 25% of the UK's carbon emissions. Addressing this through reuse could make a significant impact on our carbon footprint. The collective's goals are clear: ✅ Promoting information sharing and engagement on reuse. ✅ Challenging and championing clients to maximise reuse on projects. ✅ Advocating for faster change and influencing future policy.
