Every holiday season, my family has a little tradition. We set out a container of snacks and a cooler filled with drinks for delivery drivers. It's simple, but it radiates warmth. The best part of it is how it has become one of our kids' favorite traditions. Every night, they eagerly gather around to watch the doorbell video footage. Seeing the drivers stop by, hearing them talk to the camera, say thank you, or just acknowledge the act of kindness brings so much joy to them. They light up with excitement when we discuss Thanksgiving plans, immediately mentioning this tradition of setting out treats. They love picking out the snacks and drinks, a job they take very seriously because, let's be honest, the leftovers are pretty appealing too. I adore their enthusiasm—not just for the tasty treats or the holiday cheer—but for the genuine feedback from people. When a delivery driver takes a moment to smile or speak to the camera, it makes their day. And if someone passes by without grabbing a snack or drink, they get busy figuring out why. Their curiosity and problem-solving skills shine. It's amazing how such a small gesture can create lasting memories. This tradition has taught my kids the true essence of kindness and has sparked countless conversations about empathy and gratitude.
