"She has so much weight on her shoulders, more so perhaps on her head, because that’s where the Bible was placed. The weight of expectation, not just from Māori, and not just from the people of Aotearoa, but from people internationally. Indigenous people came to the tangihanga and said: “We’re looking at you, Māoridom, to show us how you will achieve this unity, this kotahitanga." Matua Tom Roa talks to E-Tangata about the new Māori queen.

Did G-d choose Mount Moriah as the site for the Beit Hamikdash because of the legend two brothers giving grain to each other? Many believe so. And yet, the story is not actually found in Jewish sources. Despite the non-Jewish origin of the story, during the Three Weeks leading up to Tishah B'Av, let's take note of its timeless message: the importance of unity and ahavat chinam, brotherly love. Tap below to read more about the legend and site of the Beit Hamikdash. http://bit.ly/3yltUJq

How far did each Veda, Itihasa and Purana evolve? Deep research post. The figures below give an answer based on the youngest ruler in the Kuru lineage mentioned in each Veda. Among the Kurus, Santanu is the last ruler mentioned in Rgveda. Vicitravirya and Dhrtarashtra are the last rulers mentioned in Yajurveda. Parikshit, the grandson of Arjuna, is the last ruler mentioned in Atharva Veda. Mahabharata mentions upto Ashvamedhaja, the grandson of Janamejaya (himself, great-grandson of Arjuna). Most of the Puranas mention Kshemaka, the last king in the Kuru line, who was of 24th descent from Ashvamedhaja. Mahapadma Nanda killed him. Most Puranas also mention kings from Nanda, Maurya, Sunga and Gupta dynasties. There are also later Puranas like Padma Purana and Skanda Purana, which mention temples built in the 12th to 15th Century. The youngest Purana, Bhavishya Purana, records IsIamic rule and British rule and also mentions British queen Victoria who died in 1901. This gives clarity to anyone who wants to know on how far each of these ancient texts were edited or evolved. Only in the youngest part of Mahabharata and in the Puranas do we see 4.32 million years long Yugas, etc.
