Bringing a vision to life and running a company is HARD. And, I wouldn't trade it for anything. On Thursday we celebrated Spekit's 7th birthday 🎂. Rewinding to seven years ago, I was fresh-faced and full of optimism (with a healthy dose of anxiety) as I prepared to take a giant leap of faith. Little did I know that the coming years as a first-time entrepreneur would include a global pandemic, a remote work revolution, and a tech boom followed by a sobering recession. Through it all, we held onto the same vision: a world where employees could efficiently and effortlessly master their evolving roles. Zari and I envisioned a product that would revolutionize how employees learn and access information after experiencing firsthand frustrations. A world in which enablement is: - Contextual—delivered to reps in their flow of work. - Personalized - tailored to each and every employee's specific needs. - Simple - because in a workplace brimming with information overload and complexity, there's a quiet beauty in simplicity. Fast-forward to today, I’m so grateful for this perpetual roller coaster ride and everyone who has helped us bring this vision to life. From our earliest team members who also took a leap of faith and believed, our early adopters who were patient as we stumbled on our path to innovation, and all of the team members, leaders, customers, investors, advisors and the greater enablement community who have continued to make this vision a reality. 2025 is going to be bright. I've never felt more confident in our team and the ambitious goals we have to take this vision to new heights. Stay tuned for some big announcements coming soon... 🥳 P.S. Today is extra special because it's Zari's birthday too :) While she has stepped away from the day-to-day operations, Spekit wouldn't be here without her. Last week we had our 3rd annual Tech Summit at Newfront. We brought together our entire technology group in San Mateo for 5 days of in-person collaboration. Some things that stood out to me: 1) Newfront truly has a vibrant culture, and tech is the beating heart of the company. We have a ton of fun as a team, and getting together as a group on a semi-annual cadence is such a morale boost. Folks come out of the week ready to run through a brick wall. 2) The in-person time is great for innovation. Because our spring hackathons have been so successful for driving an innovative product roadmap, we made space for a "mind hack" day where we did a design sprint focused on ideation. I expect several of those ideas to make it into our 2025 roadmap. 3) Hearing validation from customers is invigorating. We brought a few of our key personas -- risk manager for commercial insurance, Chief People Officer for total rewards -- to come speak to us about the pain points that they feel and what their priorities are. Engineering teams don't always get to speak with customers as much as product managers do. Hearing directly about pain points that we are actively solving for fires me up. #ai #data #team #insurance #totalrewards
