Highlighting an optimistic piece in today's FT by Will Schmitt on the success of Irrational Capital's flagship fund based on data obtained on staff satisfaction and engagement. It's a perspective familiar to those of us in human capital, where straw polling employees across an industry niche comes hand in hand with the day-to-day of the job. Whilst not mutually exclusive, the relationship between staff satisfaction and profitability has held relatively consistently across the media and information industry, despite the macro challenges of the past four years. More on the fund here: "The flagship ETF, HAPI, which picks large-cap stocks with the highest human capital scores, has beaten more than 90 per cent of peer funds since it launched in October 2022, according to Morningstar." "HAPI is up more than 20 per cent year-to-date, and though many of its top holdings are part of the booming “magnificent seven” big tech companies that have largely driven recent market gains, van Adelsberg said most of its outperformance was unrelated to those stocks.
