Building structures are expected to be designed for strength, stability, and serviceability. Therefore when designing a structural system with suitable strength, designers should consider tension rupture, compression crushing, and flexure in structural components. This help you understand structures deflection. #for students #for professionals #civil engineering.

Structural engineering is a sub-discipline of civil engineering in which structural engineers are trained to design the 'bones and joints' that create the form and shape of human-made structures. Structural engineers also must understand and calculate the stability, strength, rigidity and earthquake-susceptibility of built structures for buildings[1] and nonbuilding structures. The structural designs are integrated with those of other designers such as architects and building services engineer and often supervise the construction of projects by contractors on site.[2] They can also be involved in the design of machinery, medical equipment, and vehicles where structural integrity affects functioning and safety.

Structural engineering is indeed a fascinating and crucial sub-discipline of civil engineering. It requires a careful balance of creativity and technical precision to ensure the safety and stability of our built environment.

"We have a project which is the creation of scalable model database. A model here is a part of structure, like a wall for a building, or a pile for a bridge. It is defined on our experience and feedback. It could be reused and readapted each time it is necessary for the worksites. The aim of this model is to make the creation of new structure more efficient. This database will completely revolutionize the way of working in the world of civil engineering" said Clarisse Lacroix, Rebar engineer - SAMT INGENIERIE Wha do you think? #3DEXPERIENCE #CATIA #Civil #Engineering

If you are into transmission line engineering, either Civil, Electrical or Mechanical, the terms UTM and WGS-84 must sound familiar to you. These terms you can definitely find under the Notes of the drawings especially civil drawings (like route key plan, etc.) 1.UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator): - UTM is a global map projection system that divides the world into 60 zones, each 6 degrees of longitude wide. - Each UTM zone has its own coordinate grid, allowing for high precision over smaller regions. - Coordinates are represented in meters (easting and northing) from a zone's central meridian. - Zone 38 covers part of the Middle East and nearby areas, spanning from 42°E to 48°E longitude. 2. WGS-84 (World Geodetic System 1984): - WGS-84 is a global geodetic datum and coordinate system commonly used in GPS and mapping. - It defines the shape of Earth with a specific ellipsoid and provides a global standard for coordinates (latitude, longitude, and altitude). - Coordinates in WGS-84 are often given in latitude and longitude, which can then be projected into UTM coordinates.
