Cracking the Code – Lessons from a "Hello World" Invasion 🌍 About a week ago, a curious phenomenon swept through iOS devices equipped with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) App👀 – a series of notifications with the message "Hello World" and some gibberish 😂 . In the tech world, we mostly made light of the situation understanding that a newbie or junior developer might be figuring things out. Looking Back on that day, Hopefully, he/she is doing okay! 😅 Now, with that in mind let's talk about something that I'm itching to ask: What constitutes the optimal environment for an entry-level developer, minus the inadvertent mass notifications 😂 ? As an intern or new developer, would you prefer working on a project that's already there, or jumping into a brand-new one with the team? This question is for everyone that open to sharing their views Reflecting on my tech upbringing, I lean towards an environment that offers entry developers both the freedom to spread their wings and a solid structure aligned with the team's coding practices. Picture a space where the coding novices can flourish and experiment, all while being tethered to the team's established principles. It's about striking a balance – understanding the nuances, advantages, and disadvantages of each coding principle. In my early coding days, I cut my teeth on an existing project, and let me tell you, the learning curve was steep but immensely rewarding. With the right blend of support and guidance, the pressure to deliver was alleviated, paving the way for a deep dive into the world of coding principles. The key, I believe, lies in fostering an environment where entry developers don't just learn to code; they learn to approach coding with an open mind, embracing both the novel and the time-tested. It's about recognizing that every principle has a reason behind its existence. In this competition I've learnt a lot and work with different people. Different Engineers, Coders, developers and students participate in this competition worldwide and show their skills by solving problems. Before joining this competition I was love to solve LeetCode problems on daily basis. When join this competition and work with international talented individuals knew the value of my LeetCode experience and work better from a lot of people. This competition was amazing to check out your coding skills and how to manage and solve problems within a tight limit of time. During this competition, I've learn how to work with international individual, work with them, learn from them and help them. I've help many students to solve problems and also got help from many and transfer our experience. My LeetCode Journey: A Lesson in Persistence and Clarity At the start of 2024, I added LeetCode to my daily to-do list and consistently practiced for a week. However, after discussing my activities with a connection, she suggested I should focus on learning skills instead of LeetCode. Although her intentions were to motivate me to learn new skills and earn asap, I became confused and lost focus. Without a clear plan, I stopped practicing LeetCode and procrastination took over. Fast forward to the summer, I attended a session by Zafar Shahid, PhD , who emphasized the importance of daily LeetCode practice. I restarted my journey and joined iCodeGuru , a great platform for learning and enhancing skills. Thanks to iCodeGuru I am now consistently practicing leetcode and enjoying the journey. From this experience, I learned: • Seek advice, but stay focused on your goals. • Persist in your efforts, even if you encounter setbacks. • Don't be discouraged by feeling behind; start immediately. As Ehmad Zubair mentioned in one of his video, "The best time to start was yesterday, the next best time is now." I'm thrilled to share my progress and hope this inspires you to stay committed to your goals.
