🚨 Publication alert I'm so excited to share our new research work that got published in IJRBM: Information relating to suspended sediment load is of particular importance in terms of water management and environmental protection schemes. The sediment rating curve (SRC) is used to express the common relationship between suspended sediment load and flow discharge in a basin. The current research aims to improve and extend the SRC model by using a transfer function method. The proposed method was applied to a specific basin to better capture the effect of time lag on suspended sediment load estimation. #sediment #ratingcurve #sediemntratingcurve #rivers #basins #hydraulicengineering #hydrologicalprocesses

Some call it dewatering, some call it hydraulic control. Either way, we need to prevent the migration of groundwater. An intriguing report - Rapid groundwater-level declines are widespread in the twenty-first century, especially in dry regions with extensive croplands. Critically, groundwater-level declines have accelerated over the past four decades in 30% of the world’s regional aquifers. Specific cases are highlighted in which depletion trends have reversed following policy changes, managed aquifer recharge and surface-water diversions, demonstrating the potential for depleted aquifer systems to recover.
