For many companies out there, adding a new member to your team can be quite stressful. Wanting to find someone who fits in with others, someone who will be able to perform at levels you hope for, sometimes just finding someone you can trust and feel safe in knowing that this new hire will be someone that you can actually depend on. If you are that someone who does the hiring, don't have to go through that process by yourself. We can help.

The last three roles I filled were never posted anywhere. 1️⃣ I scoped a new role and remembered someone I had interviewed for another role but she wasn’t right for that one and I had closed the door with her. I called her because I thought she’d crush it even though it was totally different than what she was interviewing for. She said it was a no brainer. Did one more double check interview since she already went through the other process. Hired. ✅ 2️⃣ Internal team member knew what we were looking for and someone in his network had already reached out to him and inquired about that type of role at our company. He connected us. Passed through the interview phases with flying colors. Hired ✅ 3️⃣ This hire had his eye on our company for a specific role for the last 9 months but I didn’t have an opening. He followed up with me every couple months for the last 9. Guess who I called when I had an opening? Passed through the interview phases with flying colors. Hired ✅ Why am I writing any of this? To encourage you to put yourself out there. 〰️Be proactive. 〰️Meet people. 〰️Be genuine. 〰️Follow up. You can stop jobs from being posted. Become the obvious choice.

Super pumped after our QBR in San Francisco earlier this week. Reflecting on recent calls and meetings, I keep getting feedback from managers that continue to gravitate towards recruiters with who they've forged meaningful partnerships – those who go above and beyond to understand their organisation's culture, values, and unique hiring needs. These trusted partnerships not only streamline the recruitment process but also bring top-tier candidates to the forefront who align seamlessly with the company's vision. At the heart of these partnerships lies the essence of collaboration, trust, and shared success. It's about more than just filling positions; it's about cultivating enduring relationships that drive business growth and foster a culture of excellence. That's why I'm looking to see some of the best success stories you've had with a recruiter. I'd love for you to start tagging the best recruiters you've had the pleasure of working with. Let's shine a spotlight on those individuals who show a relentless commitment to finding the perfect match between talent and opportunity. Let's celebrate the unsung heroes of recruitment who continuously raise the bar and make a tangible impact on their clients worldwide.

Time. ⌛ I want to talk about a common struggle across almost all of my clients. The unexpected time and effort it takes to recruit on positions. The time, effort, and resources to find candidates (and good ones) is often diluted. Unless your title is "recruiter", then I doubt the company has allotted you much extra time ON TOP of your daily tasks to source and screen candidates. Especially when your title is "owner" or "plant manager". Let's face it, even the human resources team sometimes doesn't have enough time to do this either while they are expected to do a trillion other daily tasks. How fed up and back logged do you have to get to finally raise your hand and say "I need help!"? If you find yourself in this position, let's chat!

On January 8, I was given news that I was unfortunately being laid off due to a restructure in staff at my most recent company. MANY- including myself were affected. 😩 Stick with me here. ⬇️ Since that date I’ve applied to 78+ positions, been rejected from 8+ (officially- I even created a folder in my emails titled “rejections”), turned down 2 offers, withdrew candidacy from 3 positions (a story I could tell later), filtered through about 100 LinkedIn messages, have been ghosted by too many to count, went to 10 separate interviews that had 3+ rounds of panel interrogations (literally, I’m not kidding), had 2 companies enforce a script that needed to be memorized like a monologue in a play, not to mention the assessments and personality exams and FINALLY…. Finally, I have accepted a new position. I begin my new journey tomorrow with Staffmark as Business Development Manager in Plant City, FL. I will be the face of the region to maintain and create new business in The Tampa Market in the staffing realm, related to Advanced Manufacturing/Light Industrial. I know people think you should just be able to obtain a job within a couple weeks of being laid off, but let’s be real. That’s not reality. You have to weigh your options, check the culture, make sure you’re a good fit, negotiate compensation, check off values and ethics, etc etc. It’s not a decision that can be made overnight and you want to KNOW in your bones that this is something you believe in. So, this took time. 3 months exactly. I wasn’t going to jump at the first thing offered just to “have a job.” So. If you’re in the thick of a job search and feel like luck or time is running out- don’t give up- I almost did like 17 times. I know how cliche it sounds but KEEP GOING. 😌 Feel like you’re overqualified? Oh well. Apply anyway. Feel like you don’t belong? Oh well. Apply anyway. Feel like you have imposter syndrome? Oh well. Apply anyway. ✔️ Your job is out there. Your time will come. I promise. 🫶🤝
