It was an enriching experience to participate in Sapphire’s 3rd Annual Hypergrowth Engineering Summit! Thank you for the invitation Monica Escobedo and David Carter and for the the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions and gain valuable insights from industry experts. Takeaways and insights from this one-day session: - While allowing employees to use #ChatGPT, it's crucial to implement proper guardrails to protect personally identifiable information (PII) and privacy. Many enterprises choose to build their own chatbots, which can be a better option if privacy is a significant concern. Introducing security measures after the fact is often ineffective. - Data strategy is essential to build or decide on using the right chatbot for the enterprise. It's advisable to start with a data strategy before determining whether to build or use a #genai tool. #DataStrategy - #Infra, especially hardware is getting innovation with the genai. The advent of #genai has sparked innovation in hardware, particularly in the software-focused professionals' renewed interest in understanding hardware trends. #HardwareInnovation - GPU utilization isn't too high even though everybody runs after GPUs! One suggested approach for companies is to start small training jobs as trial before scaling to larger data center settings. First time in 20 years, cloud infra is getting challenged! #GPUUtilization - Cooling is an important trend as #genai server farmers are getting built! #ServerFarms - Enterprise adoption of genai coding tools happen with non-programmers. #EnterpriseAdoption - Until now, #genai tools are built for junior workforce. While current #genai tools cater primarily to junior workforce, we will soon see more tools designed for highly skilled workers. #WorkforceTransformation - Vocational schools instead of college education will pick up. Actually, we started seeing that with bootcamps in the past for #datascience and #ML. We will see it more going forward. This aligns with Peter Thiel's comments on “The Silicon Valley in the 21st century is way too biassed towards the maths people,” and his investment in Devin is showing us a future where "society is going to shift in favor of people with strong verbal skills." #SkillShift - Biggest winner in #genai is consumer! Can't agree more! #Consumer Looking forward to attending the next summit next year! #genai #engineering #SapphireHypergrowthEng #future #datastrategy #infrastructure #cloud

Founder & CEO, Ema, Board Member, Meesho, Previously Chief Product Officer at Coinbase, VP at Google
Building culture trumps everything else while building a company. At Ema, we wrote our culture doc even before writing our pitch deck. Some of our operating principles below: Everyone builds - We hire builders and creators. We hire people who can write software, create original content, and build new processes. Everyone we hire must be able to write code, write prompts, collaborate with AI (even sales, marketing or PR folks) and get a lot more done by themselves without needing large teams around them. The act of building/creating continues to become easy with the help of AI. We believe AI will eat the world and humans need to be able to work collaboratively with AI in every function. (Note: I personally wrote many thousands of lines of code as we were starting Ema and continue to write code as often as I can.) AI First - We’re an AI First company. This means we try to make maximal use of AI in everything we do internally in the company and also the products we build for our customers. We make use of cutting edge AI tools (built by us or third parties) internally in the company for running our systems and processes. We constantly look for solutions where machines can potentially free up humans. One Ema - We collaborate to achieve unified goals of making our customers and Ema successful. We absolutely do not tolerate political behavior in the company. Political behavior means sabotaging your colleagues for advancing your own agenda, talking behind people’s back and passive aggressive behavior. Bring your work-self to work - If you believe in Aliens or don’t like a certain political view, keep that discussion outside of work. Beliefs however opposite to yours should not be discussed or debated at the workplace/ during work. We've a lot of open roles. Please apply if you align with our operating principles https://lnkd.in/ddHRU9Ca #GenAI #FutureOfWork #EmaLaunch Ema Unlimited
