"The Middle East can be a lucrative expansion target for Southeast Asian companies as these countries already have a healthy trade relationship." - Neha Singh, co-founder of Tracxn. 🤝 Southeast Asian startups are actively expanding into the Middle East, driven by government initiatives to build a global tech hub, a growing digital economy, and the presence of a sizable expat population. The relationship is not one-sided, as Middle Eastern investors are also increasingly looking to Southeast Asia, recognizing the region's vibrant tech scene and potential for growth. 👀 Will Southeast Asian companies succeed in navigating the unique challenges of the Middle Eastern market, leveraging existing economic ties and attracting investment to fuel their growth, or will they find themselves outpaced by global giants and local players? https://lnkd.in/gBapkx43

Huge thanks to everyone who came to our #TSASocial last week. What a turn out! A great reminder of just how vibrant (and FUN) our tech community really is. And it was a particulary special evening for us as we celebrated two new initiatives. Here's a recap for those who couldn't join us or who, like me, might need a little refresh after F1 weekend: ↪ We're thrilled to be launching our new website: www.techsingadv.com. We've built the site to be a hub for all the great things going on across the SG tech ecosystem: from huge events like Singapore FinTech Festival; to investor focused pieces like Pitchflix' rev series; to targetted, curated events like De'Angello Harris' incredible Chief of Staff roundtables. If you're hosting something (or even just attending something) that you think more people should know about, share it! Details of events can be shared via the site, itself, or by reaching out to us. ↪ TSA is incredibly proud to be a part of the Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates network - now spanning more than 40 tech hubs around the world. Local ecosystem information and contacts from each of these hubs can now be found on the GTA #Launchpad - an incredible virtual resource connecting all the GTA communities. Practically anywhere you want to expand, connect or just find some friends; GTA #Launchpad can help you get started. Find the "Launchpad" link on our site (in case you missed it, www.techsingadv.com) to check it out. The Singapore tech ecosystem is so special - let's make the most of it. Help us find opportunities for collaboration, reduce duplication, spotlight people/companies/initiatives making a difference, and grow Singapore's reputation around the world. Look forward to seeing (and sharing) the great work you all are doing. As Russ Shaw CBE would say, onwards and upwards. x Nicky van Domburg Leslie Sarma

💥 Italian tech is coming of age. In 2021, when I brought Dealroom.co CEO Yoram Wijngaarde to Turin for the very first edition of Italian Tech Week, our main message was that Italy needed the flywheel to start spinning. Since then, the ecosystem has grown a lot, and we are seeing all the key elements coming together: 📈 Italy is now a top 10 European tech ecosystem (8th In Deep Tech) 💰 2024 is on track to be the second highest year to date by venture capital raised, after only 2021 🚀 The ecosystem has grown 11x in the last 10 years 💼 Italian tech has now created over 300k jobs We’re also entering a new era in tech, transitioning from the PC and Internet ages into a Physical Tech era. Italy is the third-largest manufacturing exporter in the world per capit, trailing only behind Germany and South Korea, and ahead of global powerhouses like Japan, the U.S., China, and India. Thanks to Diyala D'Aveni, Isabella Timossi and all the team at Vento and ITW for the invite! Download full report, link in comments 👇
