I’ve seen how #startups in other ecosystems work, and let me tell you – the #Latvian work ethic is rare. 👇 We’re humble, hardworking, and resilient, making us very appealing to investors. I’ve heard angel investors say they want more exposure to the Latvian #startupnetwork because of our amazing characteristics. Latvian startups are also big in making data-driven decisions and focusing on their customers – also a keeper approach #madeinlatvia #founders #fundraising
We asked four startup scene insiders if they think we should be worried about the low numbers raised in 2023 by Latvian startups... Read insights from Andris K. Berzins, Olga Barreto Goncalves, Martins Lasmanis, Andris Merkulovs

As reported in Forbes Australia, (the highlighting is my own) it seems I've done OK at picking good Startmate startups to invest in after Demo Day - here's a table of the most valuable Startmate companies since 2012. Edrolo, Morse Micro and Sitemate were all startups I was unable to invest in because I didn't have the available capital. But now we have the M8 Ventures Syndicate on Aussie Angels, maybe we'll miss out on fewer of the big uplifts! https://lnkd.in/gDNU_q79

Great to see Vow mentioned here, and even better to see visually how good the ecosystem is getting in Aus!
Despite all the doom and gloom headlines, the Australian startup ecosystem is flourishing. It is rare to see developing economy style growth in a developed market, but here it is. The number of startups valued at $100m+ has DOUBLED since the last time Airtree produced this chart in 2021. 🚀 Feel free to tag your friends at this incredible group of companies (and any startups we've missed!). If they're not already in the Airtree portfolio, we'd love to talk.

Longevity: Exclusive Privilege or Societal Benefit? Longevity stands at a strategic crossroads. Investors and leaders must decide whether this movement should remain accessible only to wealthy target groups or strive for broader societal access. Should Longevity be an unregulated luxury for the elite, or should we invest heavily in evidence-based, personalized preventive therapies supported by national funds? In the long term, this could yield significant health and socioeconomic benefits. The first path is easier and requires no extensive evidence or transparency. However, if we pursue the second path, we could achieve sustainable health benefits for a broader population. Are the current Longevity players ready to take on this demanding challenge? The decision lies in the hands of the orchestrators of the Longevity movement. It’s time to think strategically and keep the long-term benefit for all in mind. #Longevity #Strategy #HealthEconomics #Socioeconomics #Innovation #Equity
