Push-pull solenoids provide the highest holding force of the linear solenoids at a comparably low power input, with a high life expectancy. This makes them ideally suited for heavy duty applications, and those demanding low power consumption or low heat dissipation. Like other linear solenoids, push-pull solenoids are on/off type actuators that develop force in one direction when the coil wound around a metal core inside of the device is energized with an electric current, creating an electromagnetic field that exerts a pulling force on the iron plunger.
