He participated in the development of both the Arpanet protocols and the initial organizational structure of the protocol development process. The multi-layer protocol architecture and the IETF evolved from this early work. The Request for Comments (RFCs) were intended as a temporary way to share technical details. That series is now 55 years old, exceeding the original expectation of six months to a year. The true paradigm shift was not just technical, though. Like Obi-Wan giving Luke a lightsaber, we were given control of the internet and thus able to expand our potential beyond what could be imagined before. CES is chaos. There's no other way to describe it. 150 countries. 1400 startups. 4300 total exhibitors. 135,000 attendees. To get discovered in the chaos of it is one thing. But to get discovered AND to be applauded, amongst this vast pool of companies, was nothing short of a miracle. From the steady flow of attendees and tour groups to being honored with - not one - but two awards, our team was feeling the love for Lotus (Techstars'23)! But don’t take my word for it. Here is what some highly reputed journalists and content creators had to say: "While this tech can be useful for anyone, it’s refreshing to see a company that prioritizes those of us so often underserved." - Louryn Strampe, WIRED “This is a great example of repurposing old Tech into new Tech, in a smaller new format.
