📢 The U.S. Air Force has announced a Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) that will propel the development of RAWHIDE and JI-JOE to the next level. RAWHIDE, an integrated system of interoperable applications, provides a comprehensive, one-stop solution for cargo deployment functions, digitizing the entire process from start to finish. JI-JOE, on the other hand, enhances Joint Inspection for both traditional and contested logistics scenarios. This TACFI will advance the JI-JOE Phase II SBIR effort by deploying the software suite to Air Force Cloud One through BESPIN and conducting operational pilots at Air Force installations over the next year. Tesseract’s asset tracking technology presents a significant opportunity to extend its application to various aspects of United States Air Force (USAF) operations. Secure communications, awareness of the situation and information, agile command capabilities and total control of your resources: these are some of the needs arising from new and evolving defence scenarios, characterised by complex operations linked to both conventional and asymmetric threats. In this context, the deployment of advanced systems and innovative technologies for Land Command and Control is crucial, allowing the Armed Forces to meet new challenges and adapt to changing scenarios. #Leonardo's Targeting and Communication Command Kit (#TCCK) software was created with this aim in mind, in order to digitise the operational scenario and targeting systems, facilitating multi-domain integration following a net-centric approach. The Command Post and JTAC/JFO versions of the system are developed at the #LeonardoElectronics plant in the Tiburtina district of Rome, a centre of excellence for developing and producing defence technologies. Initially developed for the Italian Army’s #FORZANEC programme, it quickly took on an inter-force connotation. Today, the TCCK significantly enhances effectiveness, meeting the targeting requirements of the Army, Navy and Air Force in increasingly dynamic and complex environments. The precision and reliability offered by mmWave technology is revolutionizing military communications. This was highlighted in a recent Armada International article, titled: "Millimetres Make a Difference", and our technology's role in enhancing operational capabilities cannot be overstated. Integrated Battle Command System’s (IBCS) modernization of air defense is having an impact around the globe. Sgt. Maj. Gary Lynn demonstrated the app's effectiveness by quickly marking enemy positions, enhancing command post operations with real-time data, including unit speed and direction. WinTAK offers a significant leap over previous systems like Blue Force Tracking, providing a user-friendly interface for mapping, chatting, and integrating radio communications. It supports streamlined command post setups with minimal equipment, reflecting a broader Army initiative to modernize command-and-control with compact, efficient technology. This move aligns with global trends, similar to Ukraine's use of Kropyiva, highlighting the strategic shift towards mobile, adaptable battlefield management tools. Despite its advantages, challenges like power supply and the potential for screen clutter were noted, alongside a commitment to maintaining traditional methods as backups. It is an exciting time to be a Swedish company operating in the defense sector. Earlier this month Sweden took part in its first #NATO Summit as a member state, and the Swedish Air Force deployed surveillance aircraft across the North Atlantic as part of NATO’s deterrence and defence operations during the summit. This week Avioniq brings the spirit of NATO – that of partnership – to #FIA2024.
