How to motivate your team🙂 Ever felt like your employees are just clocking in and out, missing the bigger picture of your auto shop's story? When your team doesn’t see how they fit into the grand scheme of things, motivation wanes, and work becomes just another job. Imagine the untapped potential when everyone pulls together, understanding and passionate about the bigger goal. Here’s the magic trick: 🔧Find your WHY: Define your shop's mission, vision, core values, and purpose. Why does your shop exist, and why does it matter? 🔧Share the Story: Show each team member how their daily tasks align with the shop's bigger story. 🔧Value their Contribution: Remind them frequently that their role is crucial. They aren’t just fixing cars; they’re a vital part of a story, a community, a mission. When employees see their role in the bigger story, work becomes more than just tasks. It becomes a shared journey, boosting morale, dedication, and service quality. Incorporate this approach and watch your shop thrive. When everyone is part of the story, success isn’t just possible; it’s inevitable. 🚗🔧 #Jobs #Staffing #Employment #StaffingAgency #Repair #Auto #Hiring #Automotive #Mechanic #Technician #TechnicianFind #AutoRepair #AutoRepairShop

HERE ARE 5 QUESTIONS YOU CAN ASK TO IDENTIFY YOUR SHOP'S UNIQUENESS📋 Have you ever been at a loss for words when someone asks you what’s unique about your business? It takes a powerful offer to persuade someone to leave their current job and join your team. And powerful offers are created around features and benefits that you can offer and others can’t. Powerful offers can also be crafted through unique combinations of common features and benefits. We ask over 90 questions when we hop on an onboarding call with a new client/shop to get to the core of their uniqueness so we can write compelling ads that attract good technicians. I’m going to let you in on a shortcut. Here are the top five questions that will help you zero in on what makes your shop unique: If a tech told you, "I've got 2 other shops I'm talking to, why should I go with you." What would you say? If you could describe how you operate in three words, what would you say? Do you have a company mission or a vision of the future? Something that employees can get behind and be a part of. It should be short, interesting and inspirational) What do your employees say about working for you? What do they like about working there? What would you say that your company culture is? (Examples: team oriented / family oriented / Individual achievement oriented / goal oriented / etc.) Don’t run another help wanted ad or conduct another interview until you’ve taken 25 minutes to sit down and really think about the answers to these questions. Just the simple act of thinking through the answers to these questions will change the way you communicate with candidates. It will magnify your certainty… …it will demonstrate strong leadership… …it will make every conversation you have more persuasive. And that means, you get to have a fully staffed shop filled with high-performing team members.🔧 #Jobs #Staffing #Employment #StaffingAgency #Repair #Auto #Hiring #Automotive #Mechanic #Technician #TechnicianFind #AutoRepair #AutoRepairShop

“You’ll do great somewhere else.” Letting an employee go is never easy but it’s part of running a successful business. That’s why I love the phrase, “You’ll do great somewhere else.” I picked it up from a shop owner and it perfectly captures an effective mindset when letting someone go. It acknowledges that the individual has unique and valuable skills that will be a great asset to another business. It’s not a personal attack on the employee. It’s hopeful and positive. It helps you end on good terms and keeps the door open for future opportunities once the individual has grown or developed additional skills. Then you will have the quandary of the rehire. We’ll cover that on another day. #Jobs #Staffing #Employment #StaffingAgency #Repair #Auto #Hiring #Automotive #Mechanic #Technician #TechnicianFind #AutoRepair #AutoRepairShop

If you feel like a Micromanager in your shop... ...it's because you don't have RIGHT FIT EMPLOYEES. Wrong fit employees create more work for EVERYONE. They require more assistance from other employees and pull YOU into the business EVERY DAY to guide them in their tasks. In other words, bad hires turn great leaders into micromanagers. #Jobs #Staffing #Employment #StaffingAgency #Repair #Auto #Hiring #Automotive #Mechanic #Technician #TechnicianFind #AutoRepair #AutoRepairShop
