Data Centers & Thanksgiving: A Perfect Pairing As we gather around the table this Thanksgiving, let’s pause to appreciate the unsung heroes working behind the scenes: data centers! Here are a few ways these two seemingly unrelated things share common ground: 🥧 Hosting at Scale: Just like Thanksgiving hosts bring family together under one roof, data centers bring together users, data, and applications under one infrastructure—serving millions around the globe. 🦃 Feeding the Network: A bountiful Thanksgiving feast fuels our families, while data centers fuel the digital world, powering everything from online shopping to video calls with loved ones far away. 🍂 Sustainability Matters: Thanksgiving reminds us to be grateful for what we have—and data centers are doing their part by embracing greener technologies like liquid cooling and renewable energy to reduce their environmental impact. 💡 Always Reliable: Just as we depend on traditions year after year, businesses and individuals depend on data centers for reliability and uptime—ensuring no “family member” is left offline. Here’s to a Thanksgiving filled with connection—both at the table and in the cloud. 🍁💻✨

Tomorrow I am presenting the service and data value network model of FutureCraft Open Source Habitats at the Gaia-X Summit, Europe's most significant event (and initiative) in the realm of data spaces. Over the past 2.5 years, we've done our best to be disciplined about avoiding 'pre-emptive communication' so that we could focus resources into a spearhead to cut through the fog - rather than be the fog, the noise, the murmur. And in a way, we still are methodical about it: the session tomorrow is a closed-doors, invitation-only part of the programme led by Gaia-X board member and former CEO Hubert Tardieu and Université Paris Dauphine - PSL to analyse and critique a handful of selected data economy use cases. And as many of you know, I will go to great lengths to further 'sharpen the blade' to augment investor and stakeholder value, especially if the whetstones are as formidable as this one. That all being said (without really saying much at all), if you want to learn more about how we are building the first hyper-scaler in the construction industry that open-sources construction worldwide to drive down costs with 20-25%, with more than 2.000 engaged cities and regions before we even launched, come find me if you are at the event. Aha moments are what make your career fulfilling. This week I was in Europe visiting customers and business partners, and had a couple of Aha moments…   At our annual Nordic forum in Copenhagen our CoE team did an amazing live demo of our storage system – polling the audience on what components they wanted to see fail and pulling out one thing after another - disk drives, fiber channel, power supply, and so on – while demonstrating the robustness of our product. I got to see Hitachi's positioning of "unbreakable" in action - along with 150 customers and partners! 9 out of 10 top banks are among our loyal customers. At Canary Wharf I had the opportunity to engage with some and excite them about our latest Hybrid Cloud and AI offerings. While in Germany, I visited a customer in a small town and witnessed firsthand the value of our pay-as-you-go EverFlex offerings. The 200 km drive from Frankfurt was well worth it, as it brought an important realization- our impact extends far beyond the big banks. We're also driving meaningful change for a very diverse set of businesses by creatively addressing their growing data infrastructure needs.
