Some interesting perspectives on what the used Electric Vehicle (EV) market currently looks like in the US where Tesla currently dominates: 1) EVs are relatively new compared to conventional cars meaning things like spare parts and trained technicians to service them are much fewer and not as readily available. 2) Since Tesla has been reducing the prices of its new EVs aggressively, this means that the resale value of used Tesla EVs is significantly lower in the aftermarket. 3) The overall cost of repairing damaged EVs from incidents like accidents is substantially higher than that of combustion engine cars. In a nutshell, these are key insights for the future where other markets are yet to really take off when EVs eventually go mainstream globally. It's clearly not all rainbows and unicorns! https://lnkd.in/dUw3mhUf #ElectricVehicles #US #EV #AfterMarket #UsedCars #UsedEVs

Tesla's new registrations fell 25% in February compared with the year-earlier month, dragging the broader battery-electric segment into the red, S&P Global Mobility said. The EV data doesn't include used vehicles or hybrids. The last time Tesla's U.S. vehicle registrations suffered a monthly decline was in August 2020 with a 2% drop. That was also the last time new EV registrations as a whole fell in the U.S., with a 6% decline. https://lnkd.in/evrg5a-B

Finally the EV industry's game changer is here - thanks to Elon Musk. Now any brand EV and non Tesla EV's (Nissan, Chevy, Kia, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota , Ford , all of them ) can plug into Tesla's 25,000 superchargers (including DC Fast chargers and the 640 V , 80 Amp V3 superchargers) across North America making long distance EV travel a reality . The Tesla plug in standard uses the "CCS" or the Common Charging Standard, the new plug in adapter uses the "NACS" standard or the North American Charging Standard and just like that EV adoption should once again increase or until we can continue investing and building out more Level II and III across North America. https://lnkd.in/eHUrUUVj
