This is why we need to empower women in agriculture! 👩🏾🌾 💪🏾 . . . The inherent ability in women truly blows my mind. Women truly are superheroes! But isn’t it so sad that even with the potential many women carry, they are often marginalized and end up facing many barriers before significant change can be impacted? This shouldn’t be. And this is a wake up call to every woman out there; You have the power to change your world, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Not just in Agriculture, but also in every industry, we can increase the impact of women by intentionally investing in women’s empowerment. Empowering one woman is equivalent to empowering an entire community. Dear women, this new month, let’s get it! Let’s show the world that we are the catalyst for the change the world needs! ❤️🔥💪🏾 #sdgnuggethour #sdg5 #sdg2 #womenempowerment #womeninagriculture #zerohunger #genderequality

In Asia and the Pacific, women are crucial in agrifood systems as farmers, retailers, wage workers, entrepreneurs, and consumers. Measuring women’s empowerment in this sector is not just about gathering data; it is about identifying structural barriers and paying careful attention to what drives and hinders empowerment so policymakers and development practitioners can design better interventions. 👇 Bimbika Sijapati Basnett, Hema Swaminathan Asian Development Bank (ADB) #GenderEquality #Agribusiness #FoodSecurity

Just sharing insights from this webinar I had the privilege of attending, where a global organization recognizes women's pivotal role in the agricultural value chain. It's inspiring to see initiatives empowering women through shared experiences from established industry leaders. Huge kudos to moderator Winnie Osulah for steering the conversation so effectively! And to the speakers as well for their knowledge share. I love it when women support other women! My key takeaways: 1. Act on ideas promptly; the puzzle pieces will align over time. 2. Understand your market and target audience; specialize and focus. 3. Strategize marketing and sales, considering e-commerce for scalability. 4. Establish efficient systems early on and scale them alongside business growth. 5. Networking is paramount for expansion; consider yourself a franchise. 6. Make a social impact as you grow, prioritizing community involvement. 7. Embrace technology wisely; invest in quality solutions. 8. Learn from mistakes without dwelling on them; focus on the lessons. I was left thinking about how women are driving significant change in the Agri value chain, addressing socioeconomic challenges, and enhancing livelihoods using agriculture. Progress is evident, but there's still work to be done in recognizing and supporting their contributions. I hope more organizations follow suit on what AGRA has done in empowering other women by identifying women titans in the different value chains and having knowledge-sharing sessions and even networking sessions that will empower women in agriculture and have them mentor the upcoming young ones as well. If there are more such webinars or events please feel free to share them with me and I will attend I love learning from the ones ahead of me 😁 #WomenInAg #Empowerment #Agriculture
