There is more than one role to play... When it comes to pushing humanity forward. Just like the bold "Gateway to Mars" sign points to new worlds, I'm leading Texas into new tech frontiers. I once started off as a single person. I simply had no choice but to tolerate a certain level of old-school ways of doing things at first. But as I grew from merely two interns to a staff of over 50 high-performance people both locally and internationally, things have changed. Using Bubble.io to create our own (custom!) software, we have been able to progressively accomplish so much. Here’s what we've nailed down: - using real-time data to spot and fix inefficiencies - training our team to master new tech - watching our efficiency measurably soar as our costs plummet Embracing new technology isn't just about upgrading tools. It's about pioneering the future of our industry.

What can over 600 colleagues accomplish in two days dedicated to collaboration, experimentation, and innovation? The answer is a lot! Over the years, Thomson Reuters has held many hackathons, but last fall was our first annual Global AI Hackathon which brought together 612 colleagues globally, both in person at our locations in Bangalore, Zug, Sao Paolo, Eagan, and Mexico City, and virtually, spanning across five time zones. Here's a quick recap of what took place over those two days:   - 98 teams - 28 challenges - 21 challenge winners - 3 best overall winners - 2 best technical execution winners Post Hackathon, challenge owners have been partnering with winning teams to incorporate winning solutions into Thomson Reuters’ products and services. At the center of ROYC Group is our remarkable team, capturing the true spirit of our company. Meet Aram Eskandari, our talented Data Engineer at our Stockholm Office. 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝. I studied Engineering Physics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology where I developed a foundation in problem-solving and analytical thinking. The most important thing I learned during my studies was that you can solve whatever you put your mind to, as long as you’re willing to work for it. During my final year I founded an AI startup which allowed me to dive deeply into the world of machine learning. It was a fun time experimenting with different algorithms and data-sets. After that, I gained valuable experience working as a Data Analyst at Carnegie Investment Bank and as a Data Engineer at Klarna. These roles helped me hone my skills in data management, analytics, and engineering. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐂? One of the most fun aspects is seeing the solutions we build evolve over time as our knowledge in the space and the project requirements develop. There is always more to learn in a fast-paced environment like ROYC Group, and the continuous learning opportunities make every week fulfilling. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮? The challenge of creating powerful and automatic systems that are efficient yet easy to maintain and use. I believe that writing future-proof, maintainable code is essential for long-term success and innovation. Working in a sector ripe for disruption through innovative technologies is very exciting. I am passionate about leveraging these technologies to make a significant impact on the private markets, while collaborating with a diverse team of engineers who share a drive for positive change. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤? Exploring new emerging tech through personal projects is fun, but to really unwind I like spending time with friends and family. Whenever I have some time left over I either read books, play games or watch whatever is on the “popular TV shows” list on Netflix. I also watch Premier League religiously, and as an Arsenal fan we had an unfortunate weekend being 2 points away from champions, but there is always next year! #Tech #ROYC #Innovation #WealthManagement

This event was an incredible opportunity to engage with some of the most professional and skilled individuals in the software industry. The hackathon was a challenging and enriching experience, offering insights into real-world problem-solving and innovation. I had the chance to collaborate with peers and professionals in a highly supportive and high-quality environment. A big thank you to Waila Technology for hosting such a well-organized event and for fostering a positive and inspiring atmosphere.
