I'm very happy to share this great article with you, written by Marcus Law for Data Centre Magazine after our press trip to Paris a few weeks ago. He delves into how data centers are fueling the #AI and connectivity revolution. To understand this, it's fascinating to consider that we expect the total workload from data centers to grow from 54GW in 2023 to around 90GW in 2025. The AI components of that will increase from around 8% last year to approximately 20% going forward. This significant acceleration marks a huge change in our sector and is directly linked to our #energyefficiency and #sustainability goals. 💡 The common belief is that more AI equals more energy consumption, but the question is, does it really? Initially, the answer might be yes, but we're also really excited about AI because of the efficiency it’s going to drive in our operational behaviors. As I mention in the article: "If we can start to drive more automation and more AI-led infrastructure, it will drive more energy efficiency, and that ultimately will start to drive more productivity in the infrastructure landscape".
